My daughter (11 years) and myself have just returned from our holdiay to Turkey. Our stay was at the Ladik Park Hotel or as they spell it Otel !! Our flight was delayed 2 hours on the way out so that was a bit grim, but hey just more time to look in the shops. By the time I get to the airport I am on my holidays so I just chill. Flight was good (onur airlines). We were met by the rep who told us which bus to get on. Set off for Marmaris. Stopped for comfort break after about 40 mins. After this the bus broke down a few times. Some people were getting very irate but the poor driver was doing his best. Passengers said we should get another bus to pick us up, but I dread to think how long that would have taken. Anyway we got to our destinations, in our case Ladik Park. The staff were so helpful and took our cases straight away. We paid extra for air con and the safe, but we knew about this before we went. The rooms were basic. twin beds, wardrobe, bathroom with shower and a balcony. All very clean. In the morning I noticed that there was a leak from the toilet and also that my daughters bed was only resing on three of the feet so was a little wobbly. I went to reception (this was the owners sister), by the time I had explained the toilet problem to the Hotel manager (memet - although we called him Herman - another story) and we went back to the room the caretaker was already there fixing the bed. Within 10 mins the toilet was fixed and they came to find me to make sure everything was ok. This is a good hotel for a laugh. The owner Alex is there most days and one of his brothers works in the bar. Everything is relaxed and good fun. They held a Turkish night there on the Friday which was interesting. The rep came on our first full day and we booked all the excursions that we fancied. Every trip went really well. She came to the hotel every day but I didn't need to see her again. Alex also has a restaurant in Marmaris and on a couple of occassions we (along with others) said we would eat there. He arranged for his sister to take us and on our last night she even collected us so that we would be back at the hotel in time for the pick up. We had a wonderful time at Ladik park. Alex has recently taken over this hotel and I am certain that if he carries on the way he is doing it will be a great success. I for one hope so. We made some great friends here and I am looking to go back in October. I am also looking to go back for two weeks next July as soon as Goldtrail have the dates available. I had never heard of Goldtrail before this holiday. But everything (except the flight delay) went fantastically. I would say give them a go. All this for £150 each. Bed & breakfast. I don't think that was bad at all. Praise where it is due. Well done Goldtrail. Only one downside was that the hotel did not like you to take food and/or drinks bought from outside into your rooms. This is their livelyhood after all and the few extra pence they charge really isn't worth the hassle.
