we are just back from toros hotelaltinkum with gold trail holidays. we were originally booked to stay in the pamukkale hotel but got transfered to toros hotel 2 weeks before departure. we know the pamukkale is pretty decent but "MY GOD" what a shock we got when we walked into the toros hotel. if we kept farm animals in these conditions, we would face prosecution. the hotel is worn out. our room was tiny, smelly, fusty, in a state of decay, bad bedding and sheets etc. our shower/toilet was worse than any public toilet i have ever seen and the water (both hot and cold) was always being turned off. there were 100s of dead and alive flies in our shower room and where they were coming from, i could not find. they told me that the rooms were all the same when i demanded to be moved. they also told me that gold trail pay them very little money for the rooms and they cannot afford to maintain the place.
our first and only breakfast was worse than what we put into the bin after a meal back home. we couldnt tell which was the tea or coffee. we moved out after 3 days of a 14 day holiday and no-one even asked us where we were going when we walked through reception, handed our key in and wheeled our cases out past them.
gold trail did their usual letter in reply to my complaint stating that the hotel is regularily inspected and is maintained to the highest level. they must have a blind person with no sense of smell doing their appraisals.
i think gold trail are selling the beauty of turkey short by thier very poor standards.
i would not take a holiday at the toros if it was paid for with spending money thrown in.
