after booking a last minute honeymoon with my new husband i was thrilled when we got the deal to turkey with goldtrail in a 4 star all inclusive hotel in gumbet, on arriving at the hotel i was far from thrilled, the reception looked like a prison cell and on entering our room i realised the reception was a palace compared to this. the floor was filthy the bedding hadnt been washed and the towells were grey, i was disgusted, after further inspection i found the furniture was broken and been supported by the bed, door handles were non existent, and to top it all off the air con was leaking, We only have to sleep here my husband commented. After some sleep we decided to explore the hotel as we were told lunch time snacks around the pool, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks all day, and fantastic for children. On approaching the bar we were told we had to pay for the drinks we required, we were allowed beer (in a plastic beaker) local vodka, gin or brandy, none of which i like, i settled for vodka and orange but asked for it in a bigger glass to drown the taste of the vodka but they refused. so we decided to go to the private beach we had (sounds fantastic) after approx 500 steps down we finally made the bottom but were not sure where we were as there were no signs to indicate and quickly realised there was not a lift or ramp for wheelchair users or those with small children when it was supposed to be child friendly accommodation. ill not even comment on the food it was that disgusting. Turning to night time entertainment, there was none but a cd on repeat that kept skipping. After spending 6 nights there our bedding had still not been changed, we had not been given clean towells and the maid came in twice throughout our stay and emptied the ash tray and used my own body spray as an air freshener. 4 star, goldtrail sold me the holiday as, it had not seen 2 star, and what they forgot to tell me was two weeks after i arrived home the hotel was been closed down due to the standards and it had previously starred in none other but holidays from hell. And it certainly was !!!
