Advantages: Lesbian scene alive and kicking in London Disadvantages: It will take you a good month to check out all that is on offer!
...Lesbians and bisexual women visiting London are in for a treat. London has a vibrant and varied gay scene, well endowed with clubs, bars and events which cater for the gay woman. Of course, if you are visiting and don't know where to start, it could seem very underground and hard to find. Fortunately, there are some useful publications around which will provide a starting point. Time Out has a gay section available in all newsagents. Pink Paper, Pink Voice and Rainbow Tickets are free newspapers/magazines which you can pick up from most gay venues such as First Out Cafe (52 St Giles High Street near Tottenham Court Road tube)or Silver Moon Womens Bookshop (Charing Cross Road, near Leicester Square tube).

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, well-located. Can be very good value for money. Disadvantages: Can be very expensive on weekdays

Although many tourists flock to the hotels in the West End and the Kensington to Earl's Court area, there is a lot to be said for the City as a tourist location. Many of London's oldest places of interest are located in, or near it, it is the most interesting part...

Advantages: good atmosphere Disadvantages: too busy, dancefloor too small
...I spent a night at strawberry moons for a friends birthday a couple of months ago and I must say I was dissapointed with the place. We had been to a few places before and were on the guestlist - upon arrival at the club we had to wait a few minutes because it was very busy but were eventually let through by the door staff. Entry was £10.00 and £2.00 per item in the cloakroom (typical london prices).
I had only been inside the club a few minutes when I realised it wasn't going to be the best evening. The place was absolutely heaving with people, it was a bit of a joke really. People were struggling to get by one another and the queue for the bar was enormous. There were two main areas to the left and right and the bar ran the length of them, but there were simply too many people for the bar staff to serve. The fact that we had planned...
