Pop a Cork! - Cork International Airport Hotel
Review of Cork International Airport Hotel by  bananamanuk

Advantages: Unique, Extremely Comfortable, Location, New build, Service
Disadvantages: Maybe a little pricey

...OVERVIEW If you are considering a trip to Ireland, one of the most popular areas to visit is around Cork. Although I've been to Ireland almost annually since a child, I'd never visited Cork until this year. The area differs enormously from the West Coast, in that there are more rolling hills, arable farming and very reminiscent of Cornwall or Devon. On my travels I always like to stay in nice hotels, well at least the best that I can afford, and that usually entails trawling through the various travel booking engines to see which is offering the best deal. I tend to find that the airport hotels are usually slightly cheaper than those in the centre of town, and for me there is the added bonus that I can do a bit of plane spotting and photography as well!! When booking my recent trip I came across the Cork International Airport... Read review

How to have a Corking time.....
Review of Cork City (Ireland) by  ElizaF

Advantages: You need never have a boring moment...
Disadvantages: I'm not there to show you around

...and AUA. Check the website relevant to your airline for the airport in your country that flies into Cork. If there isn't a convenient one, it may be easier to fly into Dublin and get a bus (Adult monthly return) €33.00 or a train €59.50 (Adult monthly return). Airport to city: There are 2 options, a taxi (expensive) or the city shuttle which costs €5.50 per person for a monthly return. It runs every half an hour to and from the airport and talks about 25 minutes journey time. The shuttle is wheelchair / buggy friendly. SMOKING: Remember as of earlier on this year, smoking is banned in all covered places of employment this includes pubs, restaurants, hotel rooms and museums. So if you want to have a puff, go outside and make sure to dispose of your extinguished butt responsibly or you could be subject to a €500 littering fine... Read review

Cork City and Youghal
Review of Cork City (Ireland) by  sarahl2002

Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: It's too hard to leave!

...your own favourite! The Irish are safe drivers too. Again, like Cork City Youghal is an expensive place -this of course depends on how much alcohol you like to consume and the sort of places you'd like to eat - but worth every penny and minute you spend there! Fantastic place - might see yas there! I'll finish with some silly things that may come in useful. *Ireland are now using the Euro currency, this changed from the Irish pound only a couple of years ago. *The plug sockets are the three pin ones like in England (may seem obvious but silly me took loads of them adapter things the first time I went! *The film Moby Dick was set at the Moby Dick pub in Youghal. *Sir Walter Raleigh was the first mayor in the town, there is The Walter Raleigh hotel in Youghal today. * Cork airport is a nice hassle free airport...
