This place is the saviour for all burgers, I'm deadly serious. After the big fast food chains attempt to turn the burger into the cheapest nastiest food around, along comes Gourmet Kitchen and suddenly I'm in love with burgers again.
The concept is simple, a burger is all about the meat, and these burgers have some serious meat. The burgers are so meaty that there's no need for chips or any side orders, although you can order chips if you MUST have them, nice chips too.
They do all sorts of burgers, they are all around £7-£9 which some consider pricey, although I guess this is because they are used to paying 99p for a double cheeseburger. I think £8 to pay for top quality is very resonable, and cheaper than burgers you would get from say a "classy" resturant.
The burgers are actually quite different to your standard burger. Their shape is the most noticeable difference (mainly bigger). They handle in an unique way, which took me a while to get used to. I have to admit, I was not too impressed with my first burger, mainly because I am a messy eater and did not manage to contain the meat within the bread! I have now aquired great gourmet kitchen skills, and know exactly how to control one, where to bite and how to get the most satisfaction from one. It has infact changed the way I eat burgers, I used to just tear away at them. I could destroy any burger given to me But you have to RESPECT the Gourmet burger, it's a serious peice of food!
Another great thing about Gourmet Kitchen is that all their resturants are fairly small, these means that they can all keep to extremely high leves of quality control. Although on the flip-side they do get very busy, esspecially on weekends.
All together, Gourmet Kitchen is very well designed and run chain of resturant, which I hope for the sake of easy access to good food, only grows and grows (although I have two very close to me so I'm happy). I'm not sure if they have any of these outside London, if not all you non-Londoners ought to write a letter or something, because you are serioulsy missing out.

Advantages: The best burgers you'll have this side of the Atlantic; good veggie options too Disadvantages: Can be a bit noisy; not good for romantic dates with people w/no sense of humour
Advantages: Location (W. Hampstead branch), value for money, and service Disadvantages: Maybe a little pricey overall, but it is London for this branch!
