Hi, I am newish here and am enjoying it so far, have read some great reviews. I am having trouble finding who has rated my reviews at the moment so apologies for anyone I haven't rated back.

I had heard quite a lot about Gourmet Burger Kitchen and it had been recommended by quite a few people. Therefore when in London today at lunch we decided that we would give it a try. We went to the one in Covent Garden as that was where we were. It was very busy when we got there. Not surprising really as it is a bank holiday and it was lunchtime. We had to queue up but one of the waiters did come over and ask us how many of us there were and told us how long we would have to wait. He said it would only be 15 minutes and so we decided to wait.
The good news is we did only have to wait around ten minutes. We were seated on a nice clean table and given menus. The menus are on one sheet and so are fairly easy to look at. As you can guess by the name of the restaurant pretty much all the items on the menu are burgers. There is definitely a variety of choice though. They do vegetarian options for those who do not eat meat and for those who don't eat beef they have got a lamb option as well. The burgers are really interesting and range from a normal beef burger to ones with a variety of exciting toppings. There are also lots of toppings to choose from to add on extra if you wish including bacon, mushrooms and cheese. Most of the burgers come with a few toppings so you won't need to buy extra toppings unless you really want them. The burgers are all fairly reasonable prices ranging from around 6 pounds to 9 pounds. Also on the menu there were a few choices of starters. These included chicken bites and breaded mushrooms. These were cheaply priced at around three pounds each. Side orders are also available including fries, which it is important to note are not included with the burger. You can buy these as a side at the price of 2.75. There were also options for children available. The drinks available are the usual you would expect in terms of cold drinks and alcoholic. They also have a variety of their own milkshakes.
To order food you have to go up to the counter. You are given your table number when you come in and you need to quote this when you order. The only problem we had when ordering was that they had no breaded mushrooms on the menu, which is a favourite of mine. They did though have an alternative that they offered to us. This is also the point at which you pay , this does save you waiting around at the end to pay.
After we had ordered our drinks came out shortly after. We had ordered cokes which came in glass bottles with a straw in which I thought was a nice touch. One of the drinks didn't come with the others and my friend had to go and ask for it, which was a bit annoying but she did get the drink. The starters came out not long after the drinks. Most of our group had onion rings but one person had the chicken bites. All of these were enjoyed. The onion rings were really tasty. The waiting staff were quick at clearing away all our plates and bowls we had finished with. The fries came out after and then our burgers. I was the only one who didn't order fries but there were loads left at the end so I don't think you really need them unless you are actually starving. The reason for this is because of the size of the burgers. They are massive and have to be held together by a wooden skewer. I ordered the cheese burger and it had inside a burger, cheese, salad and relish. It was a really nice burger and tasted really good. It really does taste a lot more quality than say a Mcdonalds burger. I managed to eat it all but was really full up so definitely was glad I did not order fries it is important to note that they do not do deserts but I would say you definitely don't need one. As we had paid as we ordered we were free to go after we had finished eating. Thankfully there was no queue at this point so we did not feel like we were being rushed.
Overall it was a really tasty lunch that was fairly quick and easy. It was also reasonably priced, which is always good.

Advantages: The best burgers you'll have this side of the Atlantic; good veggie options too Disadvantages: Can be a bit noisy; not good for romantic dates with people w/no sense of humour
