From one side (Fitzroy Street) looking at Grafton Centre you'll see a glass(ish) entrance, with a big 'g'. From the other side (East Road) you'll see the new part of Grafton Centre, which was added a few years ago. The main attraction apart from shopping is the 8 screen Warner Bros. Cinema (actually reading again it is Warner Village Cinemas). It displays the films currently showing on a big screen, so anyone driving past can see it.
Location: Pretty much near the centre of Cambridge. There are several car-parks, all with North, East, South, West....but I don't know my directions. The main one is via East Road, which is fairly big. This is a multi-storey carpark, with lifts. There are some others, which are all pay-and-display.
Facilities: There are disabled facilities and a shopping mall wheel chair, for those who need it. This is situated near lifts and the carpark. There is also a small kids area where small children can play, but personally I don't think it is that good, though I haven't tried it. The food court has changed recently. All I can remember is Burger King, there was a fish 'n Chips store, and there is also a cafe/bar there aswell. You can also eat at Footlights. Debenhams also has their own restaurant instore. Under the escalators there is now a small cafe, which use to be a fountain.

When visiting Camridge, there are Colleges, River Cam, City Centre, Grafton, possibly other new estates. The range of shops here are well not particularly good. Apart from food, they mostly cater for fashion and clothing, which once I have I don't really need for a while. I can't really name many but they are shops that you would expect from the high-street. Some brand names, some less so.
The two main department stores are BHS and Debenhams, which doesn't really attract a student like me. Although they can be useful when you need formal clothing such as a suit. There is also Heffers, Virgin Megastore, Boots to name a few of the larger stores. What I don't like about Grafton is its lack of range of shops. There are some sports and phone/electronic stores but mostly clothing.
What Grafton is useful for are gifts for other people, and I only go there mostly for the Cinema. Prices are relatively cheap, compared to London.
There are only two floors to it however, but around the outside of the Grafton there are other shops. A free bus service to the City Centre, about 5 minutes walk.
If you're a visitor to Cambridge, then you need to visit Grafton, but a regular like me will know that it isn't that interesting.
Advantages: excellent facilities, toilets, coffe shops, etc Disadvantages: cant always find what you are looking for
The Grafton Centre is Cambridge's latest shopping extravaganza! Containing a good selection of clothing stores, it is a 'must visit area' when shopping in Cambs. It also has plenty of Coffee stops for those parched after the short walk from the city centre!
Shops at the Grafton Centre are not only just inside, but outside on all surrounding streets too. This makes your stay at the centre much more fun, as there is more to explore and look around.
... ...Other facilities at the Grafton Centre include; Warner Brothers Cinema, Burger King, plus various restaurants to tempt your taste buds.
I would recommend Footlights for good food at reasonable prices, and with a view overlooking the center below, you can watch what is going on whist relaxing with a beer and a meal.
Parking is fairly easy for the Grafton Centre, the Multi-Story can be accessed from both ends of East Road, and once parked, the exits ...

Cambridge’s Grafton centre is a typical under cover shopping centre. ...stage take you to the Grafton Centre. The Grafton Centre has two levels. On the ground floor you have access to cash machines, toilets, and a large open cafeteria. On the shopping side you have most of high street names like WH Smiths, Next, Boots, Virgin, Mother Care, Early Learning Centre, Spec Savers, and many more. There are also loads of card shops, shoe shops and there are also stalls which you can buy unusual gifts like rare stones, carvings, ... ...the second floor of the Grafton Centre you can either take the escalator or the lifts, which are more convenient if you are armed with a pushchair. The second floor has more toilets (what makes you think l have children :o) and is where the entrance to the cinema is, this is where most people choose to eat as it has Burger King, Italian Pizza, or sandwich bar.....There is also a restaurant/pub if you really want to relax and watch the world go by. ...

Advantages: Great for gift + clothes shopping Disadvantages: Can get EXTREMELY busy!
...10 minute walk from the Grafton Centre, I enjoy making the trip down there once a week or so for a highly enjoyable shopping trip (but try to avoid Saturdays!)
The shopping centre, in my opinion, has a good range of shops, but its forte is definitely clothes and accessory shopping. Within the centre is a reasonably sized Debenhams store, in which you can, as with all Debenhams stores, buy just about everything! H&M is also good for clothes shopping ... ...The Grafton Centre also houses a BHS store, which is great for accessories, as are the bag and shoe shops and slightly discounted perfume store which are also to be found there.
Near the main entrance to the centre is a large Boots shop, and there is also a Mothercare for all your children's needs.
As far as food is concerned, there are many places within the centre where you can eat. You can buy a sandwich from either Boots or the little cafe ...

Advantages: Very modern, good selection of shops, recently refurbished Disadvantages: Parking is quite expensive (but can use Park and Ride service)
The Lion Yard shoppingcenter has now been transformed into the 'Grand Arcade'. After renovation work for some time, the new shoppingcenter opened last year, and has been really popular. Whereas the Lion Yard shoppingcenter was somewhat out-dated and lacking in good shops, the Grand Arcade has been built to a very high specification, with marble-effect floors and walls. It is now much larger than the original shoppingcenter, and has welcomed a host of new shops, both high-street (TopShop, River Island, etc) and designer (Hugo Boss, etc). There are various stores catering for all needs, and compliment the shops located in the streets in Cambridge city centre, and also in the other shoppingcenter, the GraftonCentre. The shops are all quite a good size.
