Goodbye snow hello sunshine
Review of Gran Canaria (Spain) by baeswoman

Advantages: Sun sun and yet more sun
Disadvantages: Have to go home

...the public transport system in Gran Canaria is reliable, cheap, clean and crowded. It is possible to catch a bus from resorts to most tourist attractions and from the airport to most resorts. This coupled with the cheapness of taxi's makes hiring a car an expensive waste of money unless you want to get somewhere off the beaten track. Boats..... I can only comment on these in the region around Puerto Rico. There is a regular glass bottomed ferry ...
...passengers. The ferry has an open upper deck and an enclosed lower deck with a large square viewing area that allows you to look into the sea under the boat. The ferry is equipped with a bar and toilets. No smoking is allowed. From the ferry you get a wonderful view of the spectacular volcanic coastline. The journey to Puerto Rico from Arguinegan takes about 15 minutes. and from Puerto Rico to Mogan also about 15 minutes. If you take the full ... Read review

Went to Playa del Ingles last year,we were there for gay pride and it was absolutely amazing. The Yumbo center has a lot to offer,in the day time it has tons and tons of shops from tobacco shops to electrical, fragrances and tons of fashion shops. In the night the yumbo center is filled street performers and cabaret bars my favourite rickys bar a must see show.there is a water park just a short bus ride away make sure you wear sun lotion as i got burnt ...

PDI ROCKS
Review of Playa Del Ingles by EmmaLOU_lloyd

Advantages: Everything is close, within a couple of euros in a cab, and it's a very friendly resort
Disadvantages: can be crowded in high season

...been on several holidays to Playa del Ingles, with my boyfriend and we both love it. I'll start with the beach, although the beach is nice i prefer to jump in a cab (about 3 euros) and pop over the maspalomas beach. PDI tends to get very very busy, high season can be a nightmare and by the end of the day, you may find yourself being smacked in the side of the head by a mac donalds wrapper. The dunes though are beautiful, and worth the wander down ...
...although watch where your going because you may end up in the nudist beach. which gave me the shock of my life as i wasn't expecting to see a couple of hundred brown bums looking at me (but that's what you get for not paying attention). the sand is black but they have put white sand over the top so you only see a little of it, and mostly if the weather has roughed the sea up a bit. but it's safe to swim and normally quite warm off season. I love ... Read review

Puerto Rico (Gran Canaria)
Review of Gran Canaria (Spain) by susrim

Advantages: Ideal location to suit all ages
Disadvantages: Hotels set high in the hillside- but that wouldn't spoil your holiday!

So.... I booked my third holiday to Puerto Rico! On my first one, I had such a great time and made so many fond memories that I just had to go again. Fast forward 3 years and I made my second journey. Once again the holiday blew me away- I never thought I could have enjoyed it more than my first time but it exceeded all expectations. And two years on, i've booked to go again! Puerto Rico is set in a location surrounded by a volcano- hard to believe ...
...Rico the perfect place to holiday whether you enjoy lounging on the beach or soaking up the rays around the hotel pool. There is a harbour where excursions take place daily- One I can definately recommend is the trip to Morgan which is a 20 minute boat ride to a big market where the locals sell their produce- this is the place to go for a bargain, whether it be a pair of sunglasses, clothing or fresh fruit. Just up the road from the town is the ... Read review

Advantages: It has the wow-factor!

OO GRAN CANERIA INTRODUCTION OO Gran Canaria is the third largest island in the Canary Islands of the coast of mainland Spain. It is a archipelago which is located around 210km from the northwest coast of Africa. It is a volcanic island with volcanic origin. ...stayed on the Island of Gran Canaria. I remembered her enthusiasm so we decided to look for some holidays in Gran Canaria. Our search led to ‘Maspalomas’ as there was an excellent deal that we just couldn’t refuse. Whilst there we stayed at the ‘Hotel Maspalomas/tabaiba Princess’. I will elaborate on our stay later in the review. For now I will introduce you to Gran Canaria and Maspalomas. OO MASPALOMAS OO Maspalomas is on the south east ... Read review
