Wonderful Place, Excellent Holiday...
Advantages: Stunning Views, Friendly Staff, Great Entertainment & Superb Clean Rooms
Disadvantages: We Had To Come Home :( No Others.
I visited the Colina Mar in March with my 2 sisters and our friend and we had a fantastic time and could not fault the place at all.
We chose the Colina Mar as my parents went a few years back with my sisters and they thought so highly of the place. I have always wanted to go to Gran Canaria so thought why not stop where they did at least I knew it would be OK.
The transfer from the airport was fine, we were one of the last ones to be dropped off ...
...all lit up was fantastic, although the roads can be quite scary especially when the transfer bus tackles the hills but if you turn away and don't look down your fine!
When we arrived there it was pretty late but we were met by friendly staff in reception who got us our room keys quickly so we were not hanging around after a long flight. I was quite dubious when we were walking to our rooms with it being dark as I have experienced cockroach problems ...

I do not recommend you go to Sun Club!!
Advantages: lovely spacious rooms, great view at meal times, plenty of sun loungers
Disadvantages: Mainly German guests, disgusting food, no entertainment
Ok, when we first arrived, our initial impressions werent helped by the fact that it was tipping it down with rain but we thought to salvage a bad situation, we'd go and sit in the bar and have a few drinks before dinner. Bad move. The "bar" consisted of a few tables and chairs on a tiled floor right outside the dining area. It was cold, absolutely no atmosphere and there was no music to keep us entertained. ...were better than others. Everything was either overcooked (pasta, fish, meat, scrambled eggs at breakfast) or not cooked enough (the most revolting looking bacon you've ever seen in your life!) It was more or less the same every single day, with dessert being identical - you had the choice of either icecream or chocolate gunk (think it was trying to be mousse). If you like cereal for breakfast you'll be fine but dont even think of having the scrambled ...

Good quality accommodation on a budget
Advantages: Good location for restaurants, Yumbo
Disadvantages: Busy road
Stayed at Tamaran apartments first 2 weeks august 2006. We had 1 of only 8 2 bed apartments, which we found really spacious.
Tamaran is ranked as 2 star, although would argue should be classed higher.
2 bed apartments are all based at each end of apartment block which means that balcony is open on 2 sides so get a nice breeze-we didn't need to hire fans as nice breeze through apartment, especially if opened windows in bedroom. Bedrooms were lacking ...

Apartments are based on a busy road, which traffic can be quite noisy if you are a light sleeper. Loads of supermarkets on road. Apartments border on the german area of Playa del ingles so many shops to left of block cater for german community.
Pool is saltwater and absolutely lovely including kiddie pool. Snack bar on site competitively priced and food was nice.
One comment that i would make is that anyone with small children need ...

Barbados Apartments, Playa del ingles, Gran Canaria
Advantages: Nice accommodation, cheap, close to beach, pubs, restaurants
Disadvantages: Bathroom smells a little of waste - but could be masked with air freshener
Stayed in these apartments a couple of years ago. Four of us stayed for the price of £400 for two weeks. Bargain. We were on the 2nd floor. The room was a two bedroomed apartment with separate living room/kitchenette and bathroom. The accommodation was cleaned with tiled floors that were cleaned regularly by the maids. The pool area was clean and tidy although I didn't use it much. Preferred the beach walk etc. The apartments are close to the Yumbo ...
...plenty restaurants on the Avenida Tirajana and a mini golf course too. Beach walk within 5-10 min walk so good location too. Only let down really is access to the apartment is through a dimly lit reception that doesnt seem very welcoming but once you're through it all is fine. Secondly bathroom smelled a little of sewerage as main pipe ran from the top floor right down to bottom levels and the smells come with it. Easily blocked out with a glade ...

Ifa Interclub Atlantic, Good Value for money
Advantages: Food, Drink
Disadvantages: Could be quite noisy in un social hours
For my our honey moon me and my wife decided to have a relaxing sun holiday as opposed to our usual fun filled exciting holidays to florida. We Booked Through Thomas Cook and at £840 all inclusive For both of us it was great value for money. The food was very good. there was a salad bar a meat bar a pizza stand and even a chinese stand serving noodle and prawn crackers. Breakfasts were good, serving a wide selection although the spanish sausages ...
...beer to cocktails and from coke to fanta. Everything was kept clean all the time. the gardens and swimming pools were lovely. entertainment was what you would expect But was still ok. Only problem really was that at half 11 every night the local night club started up which was literally under our building . But regardless of this a good time was had by both of us and we will probably go again. ...
