Advantages: Nice location Disadvantages: Infestation of Spider Ants and the incompitent action of the hotel staff
WARNING! Please read if you are intending to stay at H10 Playa Meloneras Palace, GrandCanary. We booked a week break to stay at what we thought was a 5 star hotel arriving late on Saturday night we went straight to our room which looked very nice and was well placed in the hotel 5th floor and overlooking the pool. When we woke up the next morning we noticed that we were infested with tiny spider like ants all around the room, we went to the welcome meeting and informed the Holiday rep and Hotel reception they agreed to fumigate the room whilst we were out, we found a load of these dead spider/ants when we returned so we thought this would be the last of the matter. Advantages: Quieter area but still plenty to do on site Disadvantages: the busy pool on a weekend
My family, 4 adults and 2 children under 3, stayed here for 2 weeks in May 2006. The location was great,although the walk back uphill from the promenade was very steep. It was very quiet on a night time which was good for settling the children. The pool bar was good on an evening for relaxing and chatting with other guests.
The pools were nice and clean and quiet during the week. The only thing we disliked was that some of the apartments are privately owned, so the owners and their friends used the pool on a weekend, making it very busy.
The cleaning staff were very helpful and friendly, the general cleanliness and upkeep was excellent. The onsite shop was cheaper than the local netto which was a nice surprise.
Overall, it is a great place to stay. We returned to GranCanaria this year but could not get in here. We still had a good ...

I took my partner and our 6 year old son for a cheap holiday during October 2006 half term, after looking at several deals we opted for an all inclusive here mainly because of the cost. Full cost less than £500 for the 3 of us, flights (with Ryan Air), transfers, all meals (buffet style), drinks (alcoholic as well as soft) etc. For those that are thinking all inclusive ties you to the Hotel all I would say is I have done every sort of holiday during the last 10 years and been lucky enough to go away 3 or more times a year from 5* AI to 2* SC, I'll try anything once.
