Advantages: Beautiful clean beaches, clear water and nice weather. Disadvantages: Can be expensive and over run from people from cruise liners.
I went to GrandCayman last October and found it to be everything I'd imagined it to be. The beaches have lovely light coloured soft sand, beautiful clear waters and the snorkelling is fantastic. So many brightly coloured fish to see and reefs to explore.
In October it is very hot there but there is the occasional downpour which tends to be very heavy. However, the rain does not last long and within half an hour everything is dry again.
We stayed at a hotel called the Spanish Bay Reef which was excellent and is situatied at the north end of the island. The food was really good and they also laid on barbecues in the evenings on the beach. I would recommend avoiding staying at any of the hotels along seven mile beach. These hotels also cater for passengers visiting from the huge cruise liners that moor just off the island about 3 times ...
Advantages: A comfortable hotel and great restaurant Disadvantages: Quite a walk up the hill or steps if escalator is not on

I agreed with that idea and then he piped up that we would have to go to bed early because we were getting up at six in the morning to drive to Scarborough and staying over night in the grand Hotel.
Scarborough is about three and a half hours drive from where we live so we took a steady pace travelling over the moors keeping away from the motorway. It was great no stress and gorgeous scenery. There was quite a lot of snow on the moors but the roads were clear ...
Advantages: Lots of facilities and good choice of restaurants Disadvantages: Rooms are more basic than you'd probably expected
When I travelled to Jamaica with work we stayed in a few hotels in different locations and the one we stayed in whilst in Ocho Rios was this one. I have to admit that although I was looking forward to it I was a little disappointed to be moving from the hotel we had stayed at in Negril as it was a luxury hotel. So I was hoping that this one would be nice in its own way!
The hotel:
The Sunset Jamaica Grande is a hotel in the 'Sunset' group of hotels. The hotel is the largest of the three in the group and is rated as a 4 star standard. The hotel is made up of one main building and two tower blocks which are very easy to spot from a distance due to their bright yellow colour!
Location:
The hotel sits on the edge of the bay and in a prime position directly on the beach which is also private to hotel guests. The hotel is ...
