Just came back from our long weekend (2nd May Bank Holiday, 26May-28May) with 4 other friends. We went to Berlin with Easyjet; it was about £120 per person (a little pricey due to peak period) and the flight time is a little inconvenience because it departed at 6.30am, and check-in time is from 4.30am so we took the last train from London Bridge to Luton airport (about 1hour). We got there by 1.30am and slept on the benches for few hours.
There are three airports in Berlin, which are Schoenefled, Tegel and Tempelhof. We went to Berlin Schoenefled with Easyjet and this is the furthest airport from town centre and to the hotel (GrandHotel Esplanade), it took us about 1 hour. The closest airport is Berlin Tempelhof it would be about 20 minutes from town and 30minutes from Berlin Tegel Airport to town.

With eldest son working in Turkey for the summer, we decided it was time for mum to go visit and spoil his fun. So, a quick surf around the various travel agents found us a great deal, leaving at the time we wanted, going to the resort we wanted, and promising a 4 star hotel for around £200 each b and b, including airport taxes and transfer fees.
So... having landed in Bodrum, paid our fees to get into the country, we had about an hour journey (100km) to Altinkum and our first sighting of The FirstClassHotel. It is actually situated about 10 minutes from the main promenade, and in the area where most of the hotels are situated, with shops and bars close by.

Advantages: Stylish hotel in a superb location. Unique feature of huge aquarium in hotel atrium. Disadvantages: One bed rather than two pushed together would have been nice!
of traditional German decor style you won't find it here. This is a city centre, very modern hotel and frankly, once inside your room you could be in any major city in the world. That said, the rooms are sufficiently spacious for a short stay - light and airy and yet the furnishings give a feeling of warmth and comfort (and boy, do you need this in December when the wind blows - no-one warned me Berlin could feel so cold!) All the features of a 5-star hotel are there - the trouser press, the hairdryer, the safe, the mini-bar, the tea/coffee making equipment - all of which I would describe as "adequate" rather than outstanding. The flat screen TV and the free WiFi are helpful. The bathroom is quite stylish and clinically clean. (One feature of interest for us was a telephone handset attached to the wall within reach of anyone sitting ...
