I have stayed at the Safari Court twice. Both times it was very busy and appears to be one of the most popular hotels in Windhoek for international travelers and businessmen. Everything was very professionally done. The rooms were well appointed with two double beds. The AC worked well. The bathrooms were fairly spacious. The reception area got very busy at times and one might have a wait to get their key.
The lounge was comfortable with plenty of open seating areas for reading the local paper. The restaurant has excellent a la carte selections that were surprising for their quality. A buffet was available for breakfast and dinner with typical breakfast fare. The dinner buffet offered many selections including local game such as oryx and lots of different appetizers. As anyone who has read my early reviews knows- I love Italy! I've been going there now for the past ten years with my parents, and for the first time last year I made my own way there with the boyfriend for a nice Italian holiday. The GrandHotel Excelsior was my residence for numerous weeks holiday, and it certainly not one for the faint hearted! In the Thompson guide book it is described as 'quaint' which to put it politely is rather an understatement. One thing that can be said for it is it is completely oozing with Italian charm.

It occupies a prominent position on the corner of Nursery Street, where it meets the Wicker. Historically the Wicker is an area of the City that was once a thriving part of Sheffield with lots of Shops and Businesses.
