The next room up would be the Delux room these are exactly the same as the standard rooms except they also have a small seating area and a view over the harbour - the view alone is well worth the extra money! You then have the Executive room which is the same as the the Delux just a little bigger, with the executive rooms you can choose between town view and harbour view. Then there are the suites, there are junior suites, these are the rooms i have stayed in and although a little more pricey than the rest of the rooms the are well worth the extra money for a special occasion. They are very big rooms that have a kingsize bed, a seperate lounge area normally a sofa and a dining table and chairs, as well as a large balcony with patio furniture. Marvellous Melbourne

Advantages: The Most Liveable City in the World
Disadvantages: A long way away from practically everywhere else!

The MCG, or Melbourne Cricket Ground, home to the 1956 Olympic Games, is probably one of the most famous cricketing venues in the world, and has a massive seating capacity in excess of 120,000. It plays host to the AFL (Australian Rules Football) Grand Final, held in September. LIVEABILITY: Although really intended as a guide for tourists/ visitors, no review of Melbourne would be complete without mentioning what a wonderful place it is to live in. Melbourne routinely trumps the EIU's annual list of the world's most 'liveable' cities and deservedly so. It isn't really a place with a brief list of ostentatious landmarks for the visitor to tick off & consign to the "done that" list, like Sydney with its Harbour Bridge and Opera House, or Berlin with its Wall and Gate. Great Central Hostel to see Melbourne

Advantages: Friendly Hostel, clean and cheap
Disadvantages: Can get noisy

The Melbourne International Backpackers The Melbourne International Backpackers is in a great location for the CBD. Located on Elizabeth and Franklin Street, the nearest station is Melbourne Central just 5 mins away and Flinders Street station is only (15 mins away). Rooms: Hostel dorm rooms are available from 4 ? 10 bed, these are all priced the same, the winter prices are $24 a night or $143 for a week. You will need to give a refundable $20 deposit for your key card. All rooms are bunk bed style with free linen and blankets, all rooms have a full length mirror and lockers. Social Areas: This hostel has a large kitchen which was part of the appeal for me, clean and tidy with enough pots and pans for everyone.
