...In October 2006 I went on an all-inclusive holiday for one week to Porto Cristo on the east coast of Majorca (Mallorca). I stayed in a hotel called the Monte Verde. It cost me £169 and I will now share my experiences of this hotel with you.
The Monte VerdeHotel was built in 1969 and was fully refurbished during the winter of 2000. The Monte Verde has a total of 140 rooms that are built over 7 floors.
When I pulled up to The Monte Verde I was not very impressed with the look of the hotel, it looked like a block of flats and was similar to some of the housing around Porto Cristo, which looked a bit basic and old fashioned. However The Monte Verde is only a 2 star hotel so I was not expecting too much.

Advantages: Very comfortable beds Disadvantages: Location, Poor room service
...I wondered where the taxi was taking me on my way from the airport to the hotel. The area seemed to get worse as we went on and I was really surprised when I saw the hotel. The entrance on the website looks very impressive, the reality is very different( see photo).

There were large open rubbish bins in the street, sometimes overflowing and surrounded by rubbish. Filthy pavements, when you could walk on them and they weren’t being used for parked cars. There were a few supermarkets, a bakery and a take away pizza place, but hardly any cafes nearby. There was traffic noise during the morning and evening rush hours.
There was a 10-15 minute walk to what I would term the normal tourist areas with shops, cafes...

Advantages: Amazing Seafood Dishes, Value for money Disadvantages: Can be busy on weekends prebooking advised
...During my 7 night stay in Cape Town I experienced some amazing foods, however my boyfriend and I decided on BAIA for his birthday where we would have the full works.
Located in the Victoria Wharf, Victoria and Albert Waterfront this is easily accessible from nearby hotels and there are plenty of taxi services to drive you there should you not fancy the walk.
BAIA (known as bay) Is a seafood resaurant although there is not just seafood dishes to choose from as there is a wide menu ranging from oysters, lobster, langoustines, chicken, steak and a wide variety of fish.
There is an indoor seating area which easily accommodates up to 110 people and there is an amazing outdoor terrace with heaters should the temperature feel cool as it was during our visit in May, outdoors could seat up to 200 pax and had an amazing outlook of Table...
