Advantages: Location and 24 hour check out Disadvantages: none
...I feel well qualified to review this hotel as I have stayed here 3 times now and each time it has been expectional. The service from this hotel starts when they transfer you from Cochin airport across the road. Location is the key to this great place. As a lot of international flights land at about 2 am and onwards this is the place to stay on landing. The front of the hotel is just ordinary white washed building low lying 3 floors thats all. However the foyer is quite nice with a great siiting area for guest with lovely comjfy leather chairs and luxurious coachs. The staff in the main area are very helpful and efficient which is what you really need when coming in late at night The 24 hour check out is also helpful so you can enjoy your stay . Breakfast in the delighful dining area is a joy with freshly sqeezeed juices the type I...

Advantages: It is Excellent in every respect Disadvantages: Very Expensive
...When we visited Kochi (Cochin) in May, we decided to spend a weekend at the Taj Malabar hotel. We had won some vouchers which we could redeem at the Taj group of hotels and that's what made us stay at this very pricey classy hotel. It was well worth the price though...the double room cost us Rs 12,380/-(approximately 160 pounds). There are more expensive deluxe rooms and suites..
Taj Malabar is ideally located overlooking the Cochin harbor and the Waterfront, a view of the Mattancheery river beyond as it joins the sea at Cochin. The views are magnificent both during the day and at sunset and at night with all those glittering lights .The Hotel is 8 kms away from Cochin situated on the Willingdon man made island.
I was thoroughly impressed the moment we set foot into the reception area, which was very elegantly furnished with ethnic...

Advantages: Everything you could want under one (massive) roof Disadvantages: Located at the southern end of "The Strip" - so a bit of a walk to some attractions...
...We stayed at the MASSIVE MGM Grand for a few days this time last year.
The MGM Grand, guarded by a 45-foot-tall bronze lion statue has 5,005 rooms and used to be the largest hotel in the world, a claim recently stolen by the Ambassador City Jomtien hotel in Thailand with 5,100 rooms. It's still the largest hotel in North America, although I think this will soon be stolen by George Clooney's Vegas hotel development...
(While we're on the subject of large hotels, 17 of the 20 largest hotels in the world are in Las Vegas ! So even if you don't stay at The MGM Grand, odds are you'll be staying somewhere big...)
The MGM Grand is part of the MGM Mirage group, that also owns, among others, The Bellagio, The Mirage, Treasure Island, New York-New York (just across the street) and Beau Rivage hotels/casinos in Vegas.
The first thing...

NOTE TO CIAO:
Strictly speaking I myself have to regard this review as "Off Topic" as the Grand has not been part of the Best Western group for some years. However, as Ciao emailed me the following message, I see little alternative to publishing it... more
We stayed at this hotel after booking a cheap 'new route' flight via Easyjet. The hotel has a feeling of being in an Agatha Christie novel with a certain shabby chic and some interesting people-watching moments - wealthy Europeans and Americans. Service... more
