Unbeatable value at "The Grand Hotel" Scarborough

Advantages: Children stay free!! If you have a window then the views are fantastic. The rooms are excellent.
Disadvantages: Limited parking and you have to pay. No room service or phone in your room.

If you dont like to queue then for a little extra upgrade to premier status. We have had 4 breaks at The Grand, and will definately be going back, and have always booked premier rooms. We like the "Turet" rooms best, we booked it as a double for 2 of us but this room is so unusual, it contains 2 bedrooms both with it's own tv, and a lovely spa bathroom that has 2 doors for each bedroom. The unusual circular shaped rooms have smashing views of the town and beach, Perfect for 4 adults or a family booking. if any of your party cant make a short flight of steps, this room is not for you.We have done the"all inclusive" that gives a 3 hour free bar and the queues are ridiculas, best try and get 8pm-11pm and at least the last hour is much easier to get served. There is no queueing on premier dining, the food is more what you would call like ...

Turkish Delight

Advantages: Wonderful staff, excellent food, city centre location
Disadvantages: No high chairs for children, without the discount could be pricey

A former work colleague was popping into London to meet up with a few of us at the tail end of July. A lunch time venue was required around the city of London area that was: a) Child and push chair friendly, as the former colleague was bringing her 1 year old b) Budget friendly, the credit crunch, various summer holidays and weddings have changed peoples willingness to splash out on lunch c) Within walking distance of the office D) Offering good food With these criteria in mind one of the group suggested that we checked out Kazan, a recently opened Turkish restaurant on Houndsditch, near Aldgate. She had been given a flyer by one of the restaurant promotional staff on her way to work and it sounded like a good bet. We all love Turkish food and normally end up at Haz, which is a bustling, if somewhat pricey, Turkish place ...

Ottoman Nights In EC3

Advantages: Friendly service - excellent food, great venue for a fun night out with friends
Disadvantages: Getting to EC3. Prices when not on offer.

Mention to anyone that you eat out in central London on a regular basis, and you usually get one of two reactions. You'll either be regarded as having more money than sense, or as someone who just has more money. Yes and why is it, when the meal already costs more, they also see fit to charge a very cheeky 12.5% service? They were already going to get a bigger tip even at 10%. What these doubters don't know is that despite an almost monthly sojourn 'up town', thanks to a website called www.toptable.co.uk, we never pay for more than half-price food. Yes, wine and extras are still at full price, but it "don't 'arf knock an 'ole" in the final bill. Sometimes there are constraints, like sitting down before 7 pm, or Sundays only. This really depends on why the restaurant wants to put bums on seats. In the case of the Kazan (Turkish ...
