Advantages: good location, clean and comfortable Disadvantages: none
The Dutch Golden Tulip hotel chain has two hotels in Egypt. One in Cairo and the other is a resort hotel on the Red Sea. On a recent visit to Cairo, I stayed at the Cairo hotel. It is a four star hotel and rooms start at about EUR65 a night.
The hotel is located in Zamalek, an island on the Nile in a fairly quiet area (by Egyptian standards) with lots of shaded avenues and 19th century buildings, including many homes of foreign dignitaries. Zamalek is a great location to be in as there are several western chain fast food restaurants nearby (Pizza Hut, McDonalds, etc.) and a supermarket just around the corner. The hotel also has its own bakery with very good pastries and breads. It is an area that is popular with a lot of foreigners, particularly Europeans. Advantages: All the comfort and facilities one could ask for. Disadvantages: There is a strong presence of people staying in the hotel on business.
I stayed at the GrandHyatt Beijing with my family and had a great time, it really is a superb Hotel. We were only in Beijing for 2 nights and wanted to ensure we stayed in a hotel which was in a good location and was of a high standard . This ticked all the right boxes, the service and quality of the hotel was 5 star and located in the centre of Beijing, the hotel is just moments from Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, the city centre and the Wang Fu Jing shopping street, what more could you ask for. I particularly enjoyed the hotels facilities. After a long day visiting the attractions Beijing has to offer the is no place better to go and relax than the hotels huge tropically landscaped indoor swimming pool, followed by a delicious meal in one of the hotels retaurants and a drink in one of the bars. All in all i would highly ...
