Advantages: Just a small sighseeing Disadvantages: hope no one!
...they usually refuse to serve a coffee to people who aren’t clients of the hotel, even is they are signaled as ‘bar and restaurant’.
So, as you can imagine, not really a nice place to spend vacations. Better the resorts that lie at the borders of the town (Montesilvano and Francavilla), more similar to any seaside resort you can find along the Adriatic coast, from Veneto to Puglia.
In any case, last year I had little possibilities to visit the town itself, because my colleagues wanted to spend their spare time with me, and I was invited quite any evening in typical reastaurants.
PESCARA
Pescara is quite a small town if compared with Milan or Rome, but it is small aslo if compared with a medium size town like Ancona. Pescara has s long and narrow shape, and the majority of the town is concentrated along the seaside, even if there are houses...

Advantages: Loads of Pubs Disadvantages: Could be dodgy at night
...Ah where should I start? No matter where you enter the Grand Place from you will notice the remarkable architechture of the buildings surrounding it! A big advantage of the square is that there are many pubs where you can relax and enjoy the view. On occasions, the whole of Grand Place is covered with a carpet of flower which is extraordinary. During the Christmas period there is a christmas market.
The only downside of Grand Place is that it could be a bit dangerous at night. The place is beautful at night but some of the local thugs hang around the area. Everything should be fine if one is in a big group of people!
I don't know what else to say to describe Grand Place. It is something that everyone must see for themselves....

Advantages: Great food and wares Disadvantages: Crowded
...The Grand Bazaar is a must for any tourist visiting Istanbul, but it's not a peaceful experience! The only aisle we didn't get harrassed to buy goods was in the Gold section - we obviously didn't look rich enough!
The Grand Bazaar attracts more tourists than any other market in Turkey - the store holders are very persistent and the goods will definitely be priced at tourist prices!
We visited the Spice Bazaar which is very close to the Grand Bazaar and really enjoyed the experience. It is a lot quieter, goods were cheaper and samples of yummy turkish delight and nuts were offered with no pressure to buy. It feels more authentic than the Grand Bazaar - more locals obviously shop there.
Both markets are fun but watch your wallet!...
