Arriving At Doha Airport
When we arrived at Doha airport, we were taken by a shuttle bus to the main airport building. As you enter the airport, you will notice that there are two directions you can take which are well signposted. One path takes you to the main part of Doha airport and the second route takes you to any other connecting fights.
Facilities
There is a small food court in the departure lounge at Doha airport. Here you can choose from roll, sandwiches etc to the normal fast food such as burgers and chips. There is also a little shop which sells ice cream and drinks. The prices were very reasonable and no where near as expensive as we expected it to be. There was also a coffee shop.
There are lots of toilet facilities including disabled toilets and mother and baby changing rooms.

calligrapher of the period. If you are tall enough (I had to jump to get a glimpse) there are some great views from the upper galleries over the smaller domes of the mosque.
My favourite part of the mosque is the royal kiosk which you can only see from a distance because it and the mihrab (the prayer niche that all mosques have) are roped off to allow worshippers the space to pray. The kiosk is basically a little loggia with two private rooms and it gives access to the royal loge which is situated in the uppermost gallery. In 1826 the Grand Vizier ensconced himself in the royal loge during the suppression of the rebellious Janissary Corps (Read Jason's Goodwin's brilliant novel The Janissary Tree to learn more about this uprising). Ten marble columns support the loge which has its own mihrab carved from jade.
DO I RECOMMEND A VISIT ...
I been to Mumbai number of times mostly on official errands, naturally had little time for sight-seeing and I regretted it most of the time, main reasons being my inherent weakness and curiosity about Muslim history and their curious propensity for excellent art work. Who can forget the great ?Taj Mahal?, one of nine Wonders of the World, a piece unbelievable example of Islamic architecture and a tribute to Shahzahan?s great love for his wife Mumtaz. But during my recent visit I was determined to at least have a look at the eye catching Haji Ali Mosque. It was a decision that I will never rue.
WHO WAS HAJI ALI:
Syed Peer Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, Haji Ali who is believed to be a wealthy local business man in Bukharia, in the ancient Persian Empire now in Uzbekistan. Haji Ali traveled around the world in the early 1400s ...
