I went to Cinderella the previous week with my mum and boyfriend and we all had a great night. May McFetteridge was excellent, he/she really made the show. The joke she made about the Waterfront was clearly that - a joke! The night we went everyone found it hilarious. I am 100% confident everyone involved in the Waterfront panto would have taken it in the spirit it was intended. People without a sense of humor should probably steer clear of Pantomimes anyway. I do, however, applaud the moral stand you made by 'immediately walking out' when the show was over. I'm sure that showed them!

Quick review of Grand Opera House (Belfast)
With the train and bus stations and a multi storey car park next door, the transport links are very good. With prices from £6 to £23 the prices are affordable. Yes the top prices are on the expensive side, but you do have to pay for high production values. I gather 83,000 people go to this panto every year, so it must be worth a visit. It has something for kida and adults alike and the venue is very family friendly, and the staff are great. ...

...theatre - named the Baby Grand - and also a new restaurant Lucianos. The bar facilities have also been recently updated.
Other tourist attractions worth catching in the local area are the famous Europa hotel (next door to the Opera House) and the Crown bar just across the road - one of the oldest remaining pubs in Belfast, and perhaps Northern Ireland. Closest car park is located in Glengall street next to the theatre itself. Bus and train links ...

Advantages: Central, good variety of shows Disadvantages: Bar is a little pricey
The Grand Opera House is a beautiful, old theatre, but with modern facilties & a great mix of shows to suit every taste, all year round. It's centrally situated in the city, and the nearby box office makes ticket purchasing easy.
I have seen a range of shows here over the years, and have been rarely disappointed. I particularly rate the number, variety and quality of musicals performed in the venue, but there are shows to suit everyone, from pantomimes ... ...reasonable priced, with student & group discounts available. There are two attractive bars, where the cast of the shows often mingle with the public after the performances. The architecture of the place itslef is beautiful and authentically preserved, unlike the coldness of some modern venues.
It's really a great night ou, so if you find yourself in the city, give it a look! ...

Advantages: Most spectacular production around the world Disadvantages: The UK tour has already ended but there might be possible future shows
a wonderful experience to watch it in Broadway and got the chance to witness the musical that made Lea Salonga an international star (she gave birth this year to a baby girl). Lea was not playing Kim when I watched it in the US, so when the Cameron Mackintosh production decided to bring it to Manila, I did not hesitate to buy two balcony tickets for me and for my Aunt in the second week of the run just to find why Lea got two international awards! Having the opportunity to travel, I decided to watch again the play in Northern Ireland late last year as part of UK Tour 2005/06. Watching the musical for the 3rd time is making an affirmation that I am really proud to be a Filipino. Watching our local talents (in lead roles) at the GrandOperaHouse of Belfast (Northern Ireland) was awesome. I was only the Filipino who watched it on that night! Truly ...

Advantages: Close to home if you live near Oxford Disadvantages: Lack of Legroom
searched on Ciao for Copacabana, it only gave me the Copacabana Club in Manchester - a latino bar - so we expected dancing on stage and perhaps even in the aisles! but alas.. It was mostly men and women walking around with the exception of the finale.
The costumes were lavish - a million ostriches must be very chilly now - but they had feathered headdresses on the MEN - and feather boas, looping down too. We expected Ricky Martin, Mr Iglesias Jr, Ricky Ricardo even, but we got errr.. boyish grins and love handles with white booties in the Cuba number - it didnt work.
Compared to other theatres, like the GrandOperaHouse in Belfast, the Oxford Apollo does not do justice to a grand city like Oxford.
We hope that the refurb makes a big difference = bigger stage, more legroom, air conditioning or even just a ceiling fan.
AND I hope they ...
Advantages: It is very central and authentic Disadvantages: No music
This is a great place to see an authentic bar in Belfast city centre. It is one of the oldest bars in Belfast and has retained most of its original features. Its great for tourists and locals also. The atmosphere is very lively both during the day and night. It serves great food during the day and you can enjoy and relax in the small hideaway cubicles for a bit of privacy! There is even a web cam in this pub for people all over the world to tap in and have a look and see what is going on! The only downside to this pub is that they don't play music, but I guess who needs music when then "craic" is good! This pub is a great place to go to celebrity spot as the GrandOperaHouse is just across the road and those starring in it usually go there for a drink after.
PS This bar is opposite the Europa Hotel and The grandOperaHouse in ...
