The Grand Opera House is a beautiful, old theatre, but with modern facilties & a great mix of shows to suit every taste, all year round. It's centrally situated in the city, and the nearby box office makes ticket purchasing easy. I have seen a range of shows here over the years, and have been rarely disappointed. I particularly rate the number, variety and quality of musicals performed in the venue, but there are shows to suit everyone, from pantomimes to murder mysteries to opera to ballet. Tickets are usually reasonable priced, with student & group discounts available. There are two attractive bars, where the cast of the shows often mingle with the public after the performances. The architecture of the place itslef is beautiful and authentically preserved, unlike the coldness of some modern venues. It's really a great night ou, so if you find yourself in the city, give it a look!
