Well, what can I say if you are into getting to know country you like and you are in you should definitely go and see Grand Palace complex. It's a place that you see once though, no need to come back. Grand Palace is complex of Thai Wat (Temples) which are absolutely stunning places, beautiful architecture with lots of interesting history in it. I don't remember exatcly how it cost to get in but I think it's about 300 bath. What's very important is the dress code, you have to be propely dress to enter the Temples but don't worry if you aren't ready for that, there is place over there where they rent clothes to you.
Be ready to have a really long walk as Grand Palace complex is really huge and the heat may take out of you every single percentage of energy, though try not to run out of energy as outside of Grand Palace in the same area there is lots of other attractions like Reclying Buddha which is worth seeing too.To get to Grand Palace you will need to take a taxi or tuk tuk, because non of BTS nor MRT goes there. Unless you want your trip to be more interesting then I advise to go with BTS to the Saphan Taksin station by the river and from there get boat Taxi and tell them to take you to Grand Palace. On the way you could also see Koh San road which is very popular in Bangkok too.
