First Term At Malory Towers : Give this to your little girls!

Advantages: Very readable, enjoyable, imaginative, contains some sensible & good philosophies
Disadvantages: The modern versions of the books are altered to make them politically correct

The set of Malory Towers books was written by Enid Blyton during the post-WW2 part of the 1940s?.I think the final one may have spilled over into 1950. They tell the story of pupil Darrel Rivers? time at the school, from her very first day as a 13-year-old, through to her last, when she leaves at age 18. I read my first Enid Blyton Malory Towers book when I was aged about 9. We?d had a bring & buy sale at my primary school as an end of term activity, and I managed to cop a paperback edition of the 3rd book in the series for the grand sum of one old halfpenny! Later in the evening when at home and in bed (I was supposed to be asleep), I began to read Third Year At Malory Towers, and just couldn?t put the book down ? I read it from cover to cover that night, in secret by torchlight under the blankets, and the next day my mother ...

Review of First Term at Malory Towers - Enid Blyton

A Grande Design!!

Advantages: The Bodywork and standard features
Disadvantages: My Passenger Electric Window!

I have decided on a break from my normal Beauty product reviews. I have been considering writing a review on my Car for a while but the fact that I don't have a scrap of technical knowledge had put me off. Please do not be fooled into thinking this will be a Jeremy Clarksonesque review - It really won't be! Anyway I have decided to bite the bullet and fancied a challenge so prepare yourself for a girls guide to the Grande Punto! So why a Punto then? Several years ago I learned to drive and passed my test in a Punto. After passing my test and thinking I would be most comfortable driving a car I was already used to I decided to purchase a Punto. I also needed a reliable car which was fairly cheap to run and wanted a small model which had easily obtainable parts should the need arise. My first was the first basic three door shape. I ...

The Grand is truly Grand

Advantages: A comfortable hotel and great restaurant
Disadvantages: Quite a walk up the hill or steps if escalator is not on

I had a very hectic Christmas last year cooking for the family and generally doing far too much eating and drinking, so when it came to New Years Eve I was worn out, and to be quite honest just could not face another knees up to see the New Year in. My husband came up with the idea of going for a pint at tea time then back home for a night in front of the television. I agreed with that idea and then he piped up that we would have to go to bed early because we were getting up at six in the morning to drive to Scarborough and staying over night in the grand Hotel. Scarborough is about three and a half hours drive from where we live so we took a steady pace travelling over the moors keeping away from the motorway. It was great no stress and gorgeous scenery. There was quite a lot of snow on the moors but the roads were clear ...
