Sole survivor? (Dean Koontz - Sole Survivor)

Advantages: Fantastic original storyline
Disadvantages: You need an open mind to enjoy

***Dean Koontz*** Dean Koontz is a well known American writer famous for his suspense novels that involve a mixture of horror, science fiction and mystery. Several of his books have appeared on the 'New York Times Bestsellers List'. Early on in his writing career Koontz wrote under a number of different pseudonym's including Richard Paige, Aaron Wolfe and David Axton. Review of The Sole Survivor - Dean Koontz

The Grand is truly Grand

Advantages: A comfortable hotel and great restaurant
Disadvantages: Quite a walk up the hill or steps if escalator is not on

I had a very hectic Christmas last year cooking for the family and generally doing far too much eating and drinking, so when it came to New Years Eve I was worn out, and to be quite honest just could not face another knees up to see the New Year in. My husband came up with the idea of going for a pint at tea time then back home for a night in front of the television. I agreed with that idea and then he piped up that we would have to go to bed early because we were getting up at six in the morning to drive to Scarborough and staying over night in the grand Hotel. There was quite a lot of snow on the moors but the roads were clear ...

Review of The Grand Hotel, Scarborough

Nothing ***GRAND*** about it!

Advantages: Central for location
Disadvantages: Where do I start!

I'm going to give you an honest, reliable, insider's review of the Grand Hotel, Scarborough. "The Grand" is now, and has been, part of the Britannia group for the past few years. With the promise of a 7 million pound refurbishment program in place, I took the position of Food Services Manager, summer of 2005. I had recently moved to the area and knew little about The Hotels reputation?.only through research did I find the marvellous history of the building itself. Built in 1863 as one of Europe's first purpose built hotels, The Grand Hotel boasts superb architecture with the design rumoured to be based on the theme of time. Four towers represent the seasons. 12 floors represent the months. 52 chimneys represent the weeks. Originally 365 bedrooms to represent the days of the year. For entertainment, the Cabaret ...
