Hin Ta - Hin Yai
This odd formation of rocks have been called the Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks. The rocks formations sit on a 'ledge of rocks and overlook to see giving plenty of chances for some lovely photos. This site is quite popular due to the actual Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks which are named this due to the fact that they look just like make and female genitals, and according to out guide this has all happened naturally.

The Story Behind The Rocks
There is actually a story which accompanies this attraction although we were only told this by other people on the trip and not by our tour guide. We were told that an elderly couple's boat was wrecked and sunk nearby in the bay. The bodies were washed to shore and this is how the odd shaped rocks were formed!

Getting There
We booked a visit to this attraction on a Jungle Tour Trip so we were taken to this attraction in a Jeep. Many local shops and stalls offer trips to this attraction so it is very easy to arrange a trip here. There is also the option of hiring a car and you can easily drive yourself there. The rocks are located about a 20 minute drive from the main town of Ko Samui and they were marked on every map we saw so they are very easy to find.

My Opinion of the Attraction
I must admit to being quite amused by these rock formations as the resemblance to male and female genitals is remarkable. Aside from these formations being a highlight, I also thought that the views from this attraction were stunning. The Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks themselves are probably spaced about 30 metres apart with the Grandmother Rock being further towards the sea on the ledge. The ledge is made from boulders that have also formed naturally throughout the years and this provides a nice spot to take photographs out across the sea and of the surrounding islands.
There is a small (and I mean small) beach on the right hand side of the rock formations. You could probably only fit around 20 people on the beach and no sun beds are provided but it makes a good spot for people to paddle their feet or take a dip during the hot weather. We visited this attraction as part of a trip that we had booked so it was nice to take five minutes out and dip our feet in the water.
As you leave the rocks and make you way back to the car park, there are several rows of local's stalls, selling items such as cold drinks, pancakes and snacks. There were also a couple of rows of stalls selling clothes which was nice to have a quick look round.
We hired a Jeep while on holiday and visited the rocks again and we found them very easy to find. There is no charge to see the rocks as it's considered to be a natural beauty so this attraction is free.

In Summary
I would highly recommend a trip to this attraction. You can take some lovely photos and the rocks are certainly very amusing. On the down side, you can spend the whole day here and I felt the visit fitted in very well on a tour that we booked. We spent about half an hour here which was ample time to take some photos, have a walk around and view some of the local stalls.
