My wife and I stayed at the Grange City Hotel over the most recent bank holiday weekend. Having stayed in many London hotels that have tiny rooms and feel fairly overpriced, I was pleasantly surprised with the Grange City Hotel.
The room was fantastic, and huge! The king size bed, desk, radio, tv with local channels, business channels as well as several sports and foreign language channels, and the option of internet and pay movies. Each room has a safe, iron, and tea and coffee making facilites. The minibar was even computerised! (be careful you don't touch anything unless you want to pay for it!)
The bathroom was immense, modern, and had a large bath and a separate shower.
Our room was supposed to come with 2 monogramed bathrobes, although they weren't there when we arrived. The friendly staff of the Grange ensured that we had these within minutes of asking for them. This was typical of our whole stay - the staff were always on hand and very helpful to any request we had of them, including restaurant recommendations, explainig the sights to see locally, and facilities included in the hotel.
The "Wellness Centre" below the hotel was wonderful. For a relaxing time, I recommend heading down to the pool, spa, or even the aromatherapy room, steam room, or sauna. Very relaxing! The pool stays open relatively late, and restrictions apply during the week for children. Although we didn't use it, there was a sizeable gym available, with modern facilities.
A cold continetnal buffet breakfast was included, which had cold meats, yoghurt, a selection of juices, tea and coffee, pastries, all fresh and tasty. A hot English breakfast was available for an extra charge.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a great location towards the city/east London, literally on top of the Tower of London, and in walking distance to some great restaurants and cafes - Brick Lane is not too far either, if you fancy a curry.
Overall, our stay was excellent, and we would definately return to the Grange City Hotel. I would also recommend checking out the hotel's website directly before booking - we found a great bank holiday special rate online, and stayed in an executive room for only £85 per night.
...to the hotel and gets a corporate discount but a quick glance at the website showed a range of special offers with rooms starting at £51 per night. Overall, I would highly recommend the Grange Hotel to anyone looking for a high quality hotel in the City of London. ...

Advantages: 24 hour bar, friendly and attentative staff Disadvantages: got given wron room but this was soon sorted
We had a black tie and cocktail dress Summer ball to go to in the city so I decided that we would splash out a bit and go for an upmarket hotel which was close to our train station (Fenchurch Street).
From the moment you walk in the impressive entrance with it marble and chandeliers you could tell this was a different class. The staff were very attentive and plentiful and checking in was a breeze with a central check in desk manned by six staff. ... ...todrop our gear off. This is where we had a problem, when we entered the room, there was somebody elses belonging already in there. It would appear they had double booked. what was quite disturbing was the fact I had access to this room with someone elses valuables and possesions in it. after a quick call to reception this was remedied with a bell boy coming up and taking our luggage to another (upgraded) room. The room was as you would expect from ...

Advantages: Close to tube, lovely rooms, fantastic pool & sauna Disadvantages: website has few good photos
...saw an offer at the Grange City in May.
The room was very posh with big TV, seating area and a bathroom that I would love to have at home. The bed was very comfortable and for 4 nights I felt like a queen.
The location is great tube station less than a minutes walk. The Tower of London is just across the road and Tower Bridge nearby. There is a Wetherspoons 2 mins walk from the hotel and the prices are not too inflated compared to the North of ... ...was delicous a great selection - English breakfast extra cost mind you.
The pool, sauna and steam are just what you need after walking around all day. Very peaceful too. The jacuzzi was very good for the aches and pains in the knees!!
The reason the website has not got a real picture of the outside is not because it isnt finished but because where other buildings are opposite they could not photograph the building.
We have friends going there ...

...stayed in! The Grange City Hotel is located in the city close to Fenchurch Street Station and Tower Bridge. it is a fantastic location for both Business visitors, (close to Lloyds of London and the Gherkin), and also for tourists. Facilities wise they have an amasing range for a hotel in the middle of the city, they have a spa and a huge swimming pool which is a rareity in the area, they also have a private room for you to practice your golf swing. ... ...a most delicious dishes (try the chocolate pudding with Tia Maria!) Rooms wise the are modern and a good size with a small mini bar and well equiped bathroom, if you are really splashing out the penthouse is amazing! The best bit however is the view, many rooms look out on to the Tower of London. They are of a high standard and would definalty impress clients or your girlfirend!
