...year, I stay at the Great Eastern Hotel at the Liverpool Station. Well, acutally is the hotel partly within the Liverpool Station. During the renovation, it was very important for the owner to keep the ambiente of the former hotel of the Great Eastern Railway Company. The location is perfect in my opinion, in the heart of the financial district, just a short walk to the office, some nice coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance.. just perfect. ...This restaurant is within the Great Eastern Hotel and is accessed through the hotel lobby. The restaurant is very small with only 8 tables all closely packed in to a small room, and a sushi "bar" with room for about 6 diners. It is a Conran restaurant and certainly doesn't disappoint. ...OK. I can just about type in a straight line and feel that no time must be lost in writing my review of this wonderful restaurant. The Fishmarket restaurant is situated in the Great Eastern Hotel next to Liverpool Street Station in London. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the area, the Great Eastern Hotel does not have the most welcoming of exteriors, being rather East End and quite frankly, old, in appearance, but behind the ancient facade lies a hotel to compete with the best of the modern bunch. A room here will set you back £300+ during the week without breakfast! The designer hotel (Conran) is also home to a number of restaurants, of which Fishmarket is one, playing host to the myriad of City bankers and their entourage every day.
