Myself and family stayed at the ElGreco apartments in October 2007. I was pleased to find that we had a sea view, the apartments were directly opposite the beach. The rooms were clean and satisfactory, although the decor was in need of updating. The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels left. The staff were very friendly. There were two lifts, (when getting out of the lift there was around five steps to walk down so could be tricky for anyone with a pushchair or wheelchair). The pool was very nice with a snack bar serving good food at cheap prices. The childrens pool was closed due to work being done. There was a resturant but we didnt eat there. I would say this is probably the best holiday I went on, last year of 2006 in July time when the Spanish Fiesta was on.
Actionpacked holiday, right next to the beach with its own waterpark. Free entry to people in the ElGreco hotel, and a slight walk up a hill to a market on a Sunday, and other shops with Internet Cafe's. Whilst I was there I saw a fantastic firework display, there was a rave night on the beach, and it was just mindblowing.
People were so friendly, the beach was literally 2 minutes walk down some steps. Pool was always crowded but there was always the waterpark. Rooms were comfortable (even though I got something stolen from there) however they did their best to sort it out. If you are facing the sea its magnificent views.
The food range was great, as I was vegetarian at the time. Always fresh food, people ...

Just returned from holiday and thought you might like to know about this great resort and the hotel we stayed in. I was really looking forward to this holiday, which had been booked a year earlier, as we had been to this resort and hotel before.
Portinax is on the north side of the island and it took about 40mins from the airport to get there. The ElGreco is perched right on the most beautiful bay you will ever see. They filmed South Pacific there. Yes there are a few steps down to it, but by the end of the second week you hardly noticed them. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the maid service was amazing, I lost count how many times our sheets were changed. The maid came and cleaned our room ever day and tried to clean our sons (3 of them) but often couldn't get in because they were still a bed. This did not put her off ...
