Green Oasis Maspalomas, Grand Canary

Weather it be water-skiing, horse riding, badminton, tennis, go-carting, football, other water sports, they are all in near reach of you. However Playa Del Ingles is just one of the towns in the resort of Maspalomas. Maspalomas has the best well known dunes and beaches (29 beaches altogether) which have been awarded the blue flag from the European Union. Near Maspalomas, there is an oasis with dense vegetation, and has a small lagoon. It is quieter than Playa del Ingles and more exclusive. There is also the water park where I visited for the day -Aquasur, with numerous water slides and activities, which cost 20 euros for the whole day, and was great fun. Advantages: Nice location
Disadvantages: Infestation of Spider Ants and the incompitent action of the hotel staff

...WARNING! Please read if you are intending to stay at H10 Playa Meloneras Palace, Grand Canary. We booked a week break to stay at what we thought was a 5 star hotel arriving late on Saturday night we went straight to our room which looked very nice and was well placed in the hotel 5th floor and overlooking the pool. When we woke up the next morning we noticed that we were infested with tiny spider like ants all around the room, we went to the welcome meeting and informed the Holiday rep and Hotel reception they agreed to fumigate the room whilst we were out, we found a load of these dead spider/ants when we returned so we thought this would be the last of the matter. Next day it got worse they were every where in our clothes in the safe everything we moved or touched these tiny little creatures were everywhere, again we reported... Read review

...O<o>O MASPALOMAS O<o>O Maspalomas is on the south east coast of Gran Canaria and around 20 minutes drive from Puerto Rico which is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Maspalomas. It is this popular mainly because of the islands dynamic and contrasting landscapes and beach. When we where there was a beautiful beach that stretched around 6km, its was nice to have a nice relaxing walk along the beach at dawn and the sand is just right, however there are magnificent sand dunes which stretch most of the way which look absolutely astonishing when night falls and the sunset is resting at the seas edge. Truly spectacular. However famous for its beach, Maspalomas has a lot more to offer than just a magnificent beach, there is the rest of the island to explore in all its tropical glory.
