Cheltenham park, nice base for sightseeing!

Advantages: Nice well appointed hotel
Disadvantages: Looks a bit grander on the website! But very nice all the same.

Paramount have a lovely stock of hotels and their website is pretty user friendly too! at: http://www.paramount-hotels.co.uk/ So when we visit England we love to book a good quality hotel with a good range of amenities and outlook, so it was with the Cheltenham park hotel. Ths hotel looks lovely on the website but is a little less grand in person, that is not to say that we didn't enjoy the stay but just to forewarn you that the pictures are a little nicer than the reality. Having said that, the hotel itself is very comfortable and convenient, being about 2 miles out of the town on a main arterial road. The hotel has a lovely green area at the back where you can wonder around aimlessly and admire the river or feed the ducks. It is very nice just sitting in this area and chilling out in no hurry to do anything in particular ...

Review of Hotel on the Park, Cheltenham

Forget The History What's Cheltenham Got In 2006

Advantages: Everything all in one location
Disadvantages: Lots of regeneration at present, changes are afoot.

As many of you know I'm putting my laid back Cornish lifestyle to rest and moving to Cheltenham to start a new one. Lots of people have been asking me about Cheltenham, what's there etc. and upon looking through other reviews for this great town I find lots of history but no real depth as to what the place has to offer; what sort of lifestyle Cheltenham will provide you with. So I'm skipping the history and telling you what Cheltenham has to offer in 2006. The Place Cheltenham sits just a few miles to the East of Gloucester. Cheltenham is surrounded by hills on three sides; these hills are known as the Cotswolds. From a rail commuters point of view Cheltenham sits 1 hour from Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham and Swindon. 2 Hours from Bath, Derby, and London. And 3 Hours from Manchester, Darlington, York and Exeter ...

Review of Cheltenham (England)

What Cheltenham has for the young and the old.

Advantages: Beautiful scenery, not bad nightlife
Disadvantages: Terrible traffic around race week

though There are the usual pubs. Wetherspoons Yate's Wine Lodge Hos Head Bar Med.... Springbok - great sports bar Bentleys - great before a night in a club Toad - lovely pub in the day & night & too many others to mention! Shopping is also great, shops for all walks of life, we have the standard New Look, Top Shop, River Island, Debenhams, BHS & then going up to Cavendish House & many other designer shops located on the very exclusive promenade!. If I didn’t live in Cheltenham I must say that I would certainly visit it. Beautiful scenery & fun to be had by all (especially those with a betting nature!) They have plenty of hotels, ranging from a Travel lodge up to the De la bere hotel, this is a lovely hotel.. quite large and meant to be haunted! If you fancy a weekend away & don’t fancy the same old, same ...
