spa - without treatments?
Advantages: nice hotel in lovely village with very nice food and generally friendly staff Disadvantages: lack of spa treatments available and shockingly rude Duty Manager

When we arrived we were told that there were no treatments available, including the one we'd paid for as part of our package. That could only be provided at 10.30am the next day - with a check out time of 11am. As we'd already made plans to be somewhere at 11.30 we couldn't take that up anyway. She was shouting and very aggressive, basically saying that because we'd booked through lastminute.com we were second class guests. The spa Manager was a little off when we expressed our disappointment, but this was nothing compared to the Duty Manager who was extremely rude when my sister complained. She was shouting and very aggressive, basically saying that because we'd booked through lastminute.com we were second class guests. At one point my sister had to ask her to stop pointing at her and she also told us to 'Call the authorities, call the police if you think you've got something to complain about'. She said that the owner wouldn't care too much about getting a letter of complaint from us because they get so many! She definitely had a training need! We decided to stay in the end, not to ruin the occasion and I'm glad we did because the room was nice, the food delicious and the rest of the staff very friendly - however it was not the spa break we paid for and looked forward to and I have never encountered such rudeness in the service industry before. We later found out that many guests had been disppointed and another group had been rude to. They clearly do not have the spa capacity that they advertise and leave a lot of guests feeling duped. I am writing my letter of complaint now, if I receive a response I'll update this review.
Advantages: None - read on... Disadvantages: Plenty - please read below - main one is appalling staff
Booked for WEDDING night - no hot (or even warm) water in room. Called reception, joined by someone who ran taps for ½ hour before saying there's no hot water (genius?). Asked for another room. 10 minutes later no response - called again. Offered SINGLE room! Said we'd use that rooms shower. It was a double so stayed there in bog standard room. Took 1.5 hours to sort. Next day complained- response unbelievable. Manager said "Been up and there's hot ... ...was no use now. After a few minutes, my husband got angry (not unreasonable) and was thrown out. The hotel offered the difference back between amount we'd paid and standard room, little compensation for ruining someones wedding night. I am so upset and disgusted at this so called luxury hotels standards. PLEASE AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. ...
