Gresham Belson Hotel enjoys a convenient situation between the airport and the city centre and is easily linked to both of them by a free shuttle service and public transports respectively. This elegant property is the perfect venue for leisure and business travellers alike and offers finely furnshed and fully equipped rooms and public spaces. In the hotel you have at your disposal a piano bar open till late at night, a free fitness room, free access to the fitness centre nearby, meeting facilities with a state-of-the-art equipment, Wi-Fi Internet connection in the whole structure, a small shop where you can buy postcards, stamps, magazines and newspapers as well as an efficient reception desk where you can book tours, rent a car and have complimentary business newspapers. The hotel gives you the opportunity to benefit from special taxi fees.
Advantages: Luxurious Disadvantages: Let down with service in some areas
...The GreshamHotel in Dublin has been a landmark in the city since 1817 when Thomas Gresham bought the street. The hotel, situated at 23 Upper O’Connell Street, Dublin, is the Flagship of the Gresham Chain, which includes properties in Dun Loughaire, Cork and Amsterdam.
You can reach the hotel from the airport by catching the ‘imaginatively’ named 747 Airport Bus straight into the city, and the first bus stop is right outside the Gresham, this bus costs 5-6 Euro. Alternatively a taxi into the centre of town will cost around 25 Euro.
I was in the fortunate position of being able to stay in the Gresham for two nights as part of my last EVER residential school for my MBA. (Yay!). I decided to lengthen my stay in Dublin by booking an additional two nights B and B accommodation for myself and hubby to be tagged on in front of my University...

Advantages: peaceful, clean Disadvantages: nothing unusual, poor value for money
...When my friend and I decided to plan a luxury weekend away in Dublin, where to stay was our first and most debated question! The guidebooks seemed to rave about quite a few places, but the 'old style charm' of the Gresham took our fancy and we booked 2 nights in a standard room at the non insubstantial cost of £160 each (not including breakfast or any meals).
On arrival we were fairly impressed with the marble entrance hall, sparkling chandeliers, and profusion of conceirge staff in smart outifts. Check in was efficient and we were left to our own devices to find our room.
We realised straight away that we had been given the disabled room, as the shower head only reached my shoulder and there were bars to hold onto all over the bathroom. I was disappointed not only that we had been given a room where the shower was virtually...

Advantages: Luxurious - treat location Disadvantages: Not great value for money
...Eight of us stayed at the hotel in four twin rooms for our Christmas party - a one night stay in the City.
We were immediately impressed with the hotel, a stunning Christmas tree greeted us as we entered the hotel. We were quickly checked in, early wake up calls for the morning after booked and into the lift to our rooms.
I was a little disappointed with the size of the room - for 150 euros per room, I was expecting more of a gap between the two beds and the dressing table but the bathroom was perfect. A very modern shower, full length mirror and nice freebies.
We hadn't taken a hairdryer as it was advertised as having its own - it did, plugged in through the back of a drawer, but girls beware, it only produced cold air so I'd advise you to take your own.
We met in the hotel bar where it cost 40 euros for two white wine and sodas...

Right, you may not have agreed with the state capitalism of the Eastern Block countries, not least due to their human rights abuses, their lack of representative government, the lack of free speech and the lack of freedom of movement for its citizens.... more
