I have lived in
Grimsby all my life, I was born in the Grimsby maternity hospital and grow up here and I wouldn't move away even if somebody payed me, well maybe.
Grimsby is located on the Humber Estuary on the north-eastcoast of England and is easily reached by road, rail, air or sea. Grimsby is the main town in North East Lincolnshire with a population of 91,000

Grimsby was the world's largest
fishing port back than in the 19th century,but today the port is a major centre of food processing.~*~*~* LET'S GO SHOPPING ~*~*~*
I love shopping,I could spend all day shopping, our shopping centre is quite big,it is really nice and clean inside,it's not New York but it will do for me.
Freshney Place is North East Lincolnshire's
premier shopping centre and is located in the centre of Grimsby with over 100 stores all situated on one level. Major stores include Binns, Marks & Spencers, BHS, Woolworth's, Topshop,Mothercare and JJB's, along with many other well-known
household names and specialist shops. If you fancy a break why not relax in one of the coffee shops or
restaurants, the restaurants in Freshney place are really nice and the staff are really friendly.
Parking is easy too with two large multi-storey secured car parks with over 1000 spaces. There is also a market attached to the shopping centre,which sell's clothe's,
fresh fruit and salad,
fresh flowers and other bit's and bobs, the market is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Disabled facilities are available in the centre, you could easily push a wheel chair around, there is a lot of space for you to move around, they do have disabled toilet's as well.
OPENING TIMES:
Freshney Place is open from Monday to Saturday 9am to 5-30pm with many stores open on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
FREEMAN STREET *~*
This was one of Grimsby's best loved streets, originally at the heart of the fishing industry, Freeman Street has a traditional lively and friendly atmosphere.
Freeman street is situated at the docks at the end of Grimsby, it is home to Grimsby's oldest undercover market, freeman street has one of the finest
fish and chips shops for miles around.
The market is open on Tuesday's, Friday's and Saturaday's for 9am - 5pm.
The rest of Freeman Street has a wide range of
retail outlets, selling anything from furniture or electrical goods, to clothing or
toys. There is a wide choice of places for a coffee break or even a hot meal.~*~*~* RELAXING TREATS ~*~*~*~
PEOPLE'S PARK *~*
Peoples Park is located off Weelsby Road Grimsby. In the park there is a heart shaped lake , bowling greens, floral hall, croquet lawn, childrens play area,with 4 swings,1 slide, a sit-on train and it is all padding, ornamental gardens and large open spaces for you to play football, run about with you children or just lay down and relax.
This is a great place to go just to feed the ducks, oh the baby ducks are so cute.
WEELSBY WOODS *~*
Weelsby Woods Situated off Weelsby Road Grimsby, this is just around the corner where I live and I always take my children there, they have a little childrens play area, A cafe which is open in the summer and large open spaces with quite alot of tree's around.
Just next door to weelsby woods, they have horse riding classes, so if your in the park when they have the horse's out, they let your children touch them.
BOATING LAKE.
The boating lake Cleethorpes is one place where you can relax,
There is a little pool for children, you can take a boat ride which will cost you around £2 and plenty of cafe's for somewhere to eat.

THE DOLPHIN *~*
The Dolphin is said to be the oldest hotel in Cleethorpes. Alexander Grant Thorold owned the land which the hotel was built and ran the pub. It was originally constructed in the 1820's and extended in 1873. The Dolphin is situated centrally, close to the pier.
THE LINCOLN CASTLE *~*
The
Lincoln Castle now a floating retaurant and bar but it once ferried passengers across the Humber
CHICAGO ROCK CAFE *~*
Chicago Rock Cafe is situated in the Riverhead close to Grimsby Town centre and offers a wide variety of beers, wines and cocktails. They have a large menu and cater for all tastes both young and old.
THE YARBOROUGH HOTEL *~*
Originally a major hotel close to Grimsby Town railway station the Yarborough Hotel spent many years in neglect and misuse before being bought by the JD Wetherspoon chain and transformed into a large haven for the towns
beer drinkers. It boasts a large variety of excellent beers and lagers at exceptional prices but no
music.
CRICKETERS *~*
Cricketers is a large 40 year old pub set in a quiet residential area of Grimsby. A Wacky Warehouse was built next to the pub 2 years ago and is the ultimate play facility for the children, I am alway's in the Wacky with my children, they love it, As well as offering this superb play facility they have an excellent pub. They offer a full range of both beers, lagers and real ales as well as serving food from the Big Steak menu and Specials board, they also do a great children's menu things like fish fingers & smiley face's, So if you have a family or would just like to socialize with a meal or a drink the Cricketers is the place for you, I think it's one of the best pub's we have in Grimsby.

The Pier 39 have been voted the best nightclub on the coast due to their high standards of sound and lighting.
They have a two rooms, each with their own music styles:

Steels is Cleethorpes premier fish and chip restaurants and has been classified by several major food organisations for their excellence. The menu includes Jumbo, Regular and small fish and chips plus their items such as their home-made

GRIMSBY LIBRARY *~*
The main cenral library is situated in Bethlehem Street, near Freshney Place, it is hugh, you can go in anytime and use their computers but it doe's cost you.
ST JAMES CHURCH *~*
St James Church situated in St James Square,right in the middle of the town, one day I will get married here, it is a lovely church.
GRIMSBY TOWN HALL *~*
The present Town Hall is the fourth to be built in Grimsby. The first building was constructed in the 13th century with a newer Town Hall being built in 1395. Records show that it had a storehouse, a jail and a chamber.
The present Town Hall opened in 1863. The cost of the building was £6500. On the wall of the facade, in the spandrels over the arches, six circular panels are situated containing bust s of the Queen and the Prince Consort, John Whitgift (Bishop of Lincoln and later Archbishop of Canterbury), King Edward III (who granted the land to the Freemen), the Earl of Yarborough (High Steward of the Borough) and Gervase Holles (historian and Mayor of Grimsby AD 1640).
If you visit the town hall, you can go back in time and see for yourself how Great Grimsby used to be in the early 1900's. There is also a Monopoly Board describing the origins of the streets of Grimsby
DOCK TOWER *~*
Over one million bricks were used to build the dock tower and it stands over three hundred feet in height.
The Tower was designed by Sir W Armstrong and built by James William Wild in 1852.
The Dock Tower is Grimsby's most famous landmark and has been given grade one listed building status, ranking it along side such national treasures as Buckingham Palace and Chatsworth House.
I have never been up the Dock Tower as I am afried of height's so I will leave that up to you if you ever visit Grimsby.
THE HERITAGE CENTRE *~*
In the Heritage Centre, you will explore the Skipper's wheelhouse, the tiny galley, the mess and the cramped
sleeping quarters, they even have a play room for the children to draw picture's of fish and the sea and do jigsaw's.
This place doe's really smell of fish, so you have been warned.
I have been to the
heritage centre around about 6 times and it really gives you a feel of what it was like to be a trawlerman, this museum has won many awards and really is an exciting place to visit.~*~*~* LET'S HAVE A SLEEP *~*~*

Thorpe Park is Cleethorpes main
self catering facilites for tourists.
Thorpe Park provides facilities such as fishing,
crazy golf, minmarkets, multisports
courts, bowling greens and
tennis courts and a outdoor and indoor
swimming pool.
Prices range from £175 to £521 and have holiday units available as well which can house up to 8 people.
Thorpe park is right next door to Please island and alot of people stay here in the summer.
THE BEACHCOMBER *~*
The Beachcomber provides British tourists with the traditional British holiday experience. Facilities include self catering units, swimming pool, mini market, tennis courts, crazy golf, amusement centre, take away facilities, licensed bar ad cabaret room. Thorpe Park and the Beachcomber provide tourists with similar facilities and they are right next door to each other.
There are hundreds of
B&B's in Grimsby but I can't tell you what all of them are called or what all of them are like, sorry

Millfields is Grimsby's premier hotel which has facilities such as Televisions in rooms, squash facilities, gym, sauna, games room, licensed bar, telephones in each room and tea an coffee making facilities. Millfields has a wide selections of rooms and prices starting from single bed and breakfast from £45 or a family bed and breakfast starting from £60.
THE KINGSWAY HOTEL *~*
The Kingsway hotel is Cleethorpes premier hotel / restaurant. It is located on Cleethorpes seafront and residents of the hotel have accesss to all of Cleethorpes major
tourist attractions such as Pleasure Island, Boating
Lake, Local parks or Cleethorpes Leisure Centre. The Kingsway also has conference centre facilities.
The Kingsway is located a short distance from Cleethorpes railway station.

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre has a wide variety of
sporting facilities and has a large indoor swimming pool, with a big
water slide, which is great fun, in the indoor swimming pool they also have next to it a baby pool, for you and your baby to relax in and facilities for squash, sports hall with a variety of activities such as 5 a-side football, tennis, badminton, netball and basketball. It also has a gym and a sauna which is just what I need after a hard day at work..
In the swimming pool,every half an hour they put the wave machine on which is great fun for all the family.
WELHOME TENNIS COURTS *~*
Anybody can play here,players of all ages,they have many excellent facilities including:
4 floodlit all-weather synthetic grass courts,
2 special wet weather synthetic grass courts,
A totally refurbished squash court.
I use to play tennis on here a few years ago, the price back than was only 50p for an hour.
SCARTHO SWIMMING BATHS *~*
Scatho
swimming baths is where I learnt to swim (years ago).
The pool is also out for party hire.
Not only doe's Scartho swimming baths have a swimming pool but a new gym and sauna.
GRIMSBY LEISURE CENTRE *~*
In the Grimsby leisure centre they have a Blizzards Ice Arena, Lagoon Fun Pool, 7 Courts Sports Hall, Reflexions Fitness Suite ,4 Rink Indoor Bowls Hall, 3 Squash Courts, Snooker Room, 4 Court All Weather Area, Functions/Meeting Room, Solarium and Finishing Line Café & Bar.

There are over 20 different
bus routes in Grimsby,
double Decker's, 2 open top buses, 24 singledeckers, 10 midi buses, 11 coaches and one disabled facilities coach.
The main bus station is in Town,outside Freshney Place.
TRAINS *~*
Every time I have got a train, they have always been on time, the train station isn't much to look at, most of the time it's clean and there is a little cafe which sell's paper's, magazines, hot drinks and food which you can take out, for your train jounery. The train station has a big bridge taking you from one side to the other, but if you have a pushchair or you are in a wheelchair, just ask a mamber of staff to open the gate's at the back of the train station for you so you can walk around.
TAXI'S *~*
There are hundreds of taxi's in Grimsby, which will take you anywhere where you need to go, the cost of a taxi from grimsby to cleethorpes cost you £4.50.~*~*~* BLUNDELL PARK *~*~*
Grimsby Town never play their matches at home because the stadium is located in Cleethorpes, (did you know that ).
I have never been to watch Grimsby play at "home" so I can't tell you what it is like.

PLEASURE ISLAND *~*
Pleasure Island is a day packed full of thrilling and spills for all the family. Its great value (see below)One price on entry means you can stay all day. There are lot's of shows,for you and the children, rolloercoaster, big one's and small and they have a stream train which will take you around the park, I wouldn't see it's the best
theme park but it's not one of the worst.

PLAYTOWERS *~*
There are six foors of
action packedentertainment, and over sixty different activities. There is lot's to do at playtower's, most children have their party's here. There is a children Black Hole, long
Rope Bridge, around 10 different slides,cargo nets,which the children can swing on and a
ball pool for the little ones. Last time I was there, children was getting their own
buggies and racing each other with them along the toddler motorway.
Inside playtower their is a huge restaurant with a hugh selection of Playtowers foods.
I think the best thing about Playtowers is that you can join your children on the activities, but you have to take your shoe's of first, so make sure you have changed your socks lol.

FANTASY WORLD *~*
Fantasy world is 20,000 square feet of children's play area, including ball pools, tumble tower, castle of adventure, magic submarine, free-fall slide, toddlers soft play area, bouncy castle and much more including a large cafeteria. Fantasy World offers a safe environment for your children to play, but I don't think it is as safe as Playtowers.
This is a good fun play area but for 30p more, you get alot more at Playtowers and the food is better.

Like most town's Grimsby has a few bad people (I will put that in a nice way) but the rest of the Grimsby people are really nice and friendly (like me).

Well it's not spain or anywhere like that, because Grimsby is right next to the coast, most of the time it's really windy but sometimes the sun doe's come out to say hello.

I love Grimsby, all my friends and family live here and my two lovely children were born in Grimsby.
There are plenty of places to go and take my children out, lot's of parks, swimming pools and childrens playcenter's such as playtowers.
I have took some note's from the
computer, as I didn't know some history for thing's like the Town Hall or the Dock Tower
