I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas.

Advantages: Great Pistes, cracking scenary, highest pioint in Europe is here.
Disadvantages: Snow not always guaranteed

...and everyone in between. Grindelwald is also home to the world's longest sledge run, at 15km long. (I think it is anyway, tell me if i'm wrong). Most of the time we were there, it was closed, as there was fresh snow which kept the piste-bashers away.

Thirdly, being based away from Grindelwald (towards the bottom of the valley, near Interlaken) I could not have access to the nightlife, so can't really judge. I did see several bars and ... more

Enchanting

Advantages: Lovely scenery
Disadvantages: Bad weather

grindelwald is an enchanting, pretty high up town in the country of Switzerland. It is also very busy with tourists from all over the World coming to pay a visit here. I can't blame them because when i went i was absolutely awe-struch at the amazing views. Towering above this lovely ski-resort is the North face of the immense Eiger. This is where the Clint Eastwood film 'The Eiger Sanction' was filmed. It is a great spectacle with an almost verticle ...

Beautiful Views Looking At The Eiger

Advantages: Beautiful views, friendly staff, lovely rooms, lovely area, everything is just perfect
Disadvantages: Have to go outside the hotel to go to a pool

If I had one word to say about this hotel it would be, brilliant, although i do have a lot more words to describe this hotel. I have been to the Eiger Hotel twice in the last two years, and each time i have gone the service and hospitality has been wonderful! The waiters and the receptionists, every single worker is caring and helps you along your holiday. The first time i came, we had a room facing the Eiger, the room was set out perfect and they helped us book our ski's, tell us where to get our passes onto the slopes. After looking around Grindelwald we sat down for dinner to only find the seven course meal we were about to go through. Me and my brother thought it was heaven! The food made to perfection, also quick service. For the first few days we couldnt eat it all, but after being on the ski slopes for the whole day we ...

Best B&B in Interlaken

Advantages: Almost perfect
Disadvantages: Almost none - ok maybe one: no lift

I stayed here with my mom for 2 nights and we truly enjoyed our stay. Before booking, we did some research online and this hotel has been ranked first place on another review website so we thought this would be our best choice. We paid CHF 130 per room per night and this rate includes breakfast. The hotel is run by Chris and Ursula and this couple is great ! They told us everything we needed to know about our stay in Interlaken and suggested us a few itineries to follow. The main highlight for our stay was the trip to Jungfraujoch and Chris told us it's best to go up via Grindelwald and down via Lauterbrunnen. He even gave us directions to restaurants and a tour route of Interlaken. Location of hotel: Interlaken is a very small town and there are many hotels near the train station. There are two train stations in Interlaken ...

It's so easy to get H-I-G-H!

Advantages: Fantastic views within easy reach by all ages.
Disadvantages: Pricey if not using discount cards

11,000 feet above sea level is H-I-G-H. In fact it's more than two miles straight up. And that's where you'll find Jungfraujoch. --- What's Jungfraujoch? --- Jungfraujoch is a research site in Switzerland that is situated in the saddle between the Monch and Jungfrau peaks and the Jungfraujoch Experience is the method of transporting tourists from Interlaken Ost railway station or Grindelwald to Jungfraujoch without the need for sherpas, yaks and mountaineering equipment. A 'research site' sounds a bit bleak and evokes images of bushy-haired, bespectacled men busily rushing to and fro with clipboards, frowning and muttering under their breath about measuring this and that and the angles on their hypotenueses. But of course it's not like that at all. Jungfraujoch now has a very modern tourist centre that caters for typical ...
