Advantages: Multi Cultural, Beautiful Beaches, Friendly Local People Disadvantages: Maybe a tad too many new condos/developements
...St.Martin/St.Maarten is an unusual place since one half of the Island is Dutch with the other half being a department of France. There are no borders between the two and only one main Airport on the Dutch side of the Island. Recently, the island has undergone significant developement slightly to its detriment, but then again thats progress I suppose. This is a feature of many of the Caribbean Islands and indeed tourist spots globally.
Nevertheless it is a beautiful Island with an interesting mix of Dutch colonial influence and French chic. Neighbouring Islands such as Anguilla and Saba are within a speed boats journey away and offer a more traditional atmosphere of the caribbean of the past, quiet and very laid back. Don't dismiss St.Maarten for its progress as it is still very much well worth a visit....

..., Cologne's main station is located immediately adjacent to the Cathedral, passes within a couple of hundred metres of it. Get off a train in Cologne and you will need no other transport in order to visit the Cathedral.
