Plymouth town centre, The National Marine Aquarium, Warner village complex which boasts a cinema, Ten pin bowling, restaurants and a night club. There is also the Theatre Royal and The Pavilions who host top named ads. During the summer months a boat trip around the Dockyard and warships or up the river to Calstock can be a very relaxing way to spend a few hours, finishing up at the Barbican where you can enjoy some lovely fish and chips.
Advantages: Position - within 5 minutes of the station and 10 mins from town. Disadvantages: The Hotel and Staff are awful.
...Absolutely appalling little hotel.
The hotel itself was dirty (carpets etc.), our shower didn't work and we were told we had missed breakfast by one minute (even though our watches said their clock was fast). No options - just "breakfast is finished". When I suggested her clock was fast, she marched over to the TV and switched it on with Teletext showing the time (which was now after 9am) and marched off without a word! The Staff/owners were curt and very unfriendly. Horrible.
Avoid at all costs! Unfortunately we didn't do enough research before booking. If you haven't booked yet then DON'T. You will find that there are a lot of well reviewed hotels/B&Bs in Plymouth. Nobody has naything nice to say about this dive!...

I stayed at the Ibis once - which was cheap and cheerful and had a nice bistro/restaurant. It is just outside Plymouth and can be seen from the A38 as you approach Plymouth. Quite high up on a hillside, so took me a little while to actually find the road up to it from the A38.

Best Western Duke of Cornwall Hotel - Plymouth Devon
The Best Western Duke of Cornwall Hotel is set in the heart of Plymouth city centre directly opposite the Plymouth Pavilions where a lot of concerts and shows are held.
The hotel is also a ten minute (max) walk from Plymouth Ferry port or 5 minutes (max) to drive. Plymouth airport is only 5 miles away. It is also well positioned for city centre shopping and the well renowned Union Street, all of which will be explained in full later.

The Hotel:-
The hotel proudly holds 3 Stars and 1 Rosette for the restaurant.
It is an exceptionally unusual looking hotel in Victorian Gothic style. And from what I am aware...
