Advantages: Relaxing and Luxurious Disadvantages: Not a huge range of facilities
facing the rear of the hotel. They are clean and the hotel is less than five years old so dont expect anything to ruin your holiday or stay at the Grupotel Macarella. I personally would make this my first choice of hotel when visiting Menorca (along with the resort). A simple walk across the road brings you to the heart of the marina which is always busy in the evenings if the hotels local entertainment does not take your fancy.
Although I mentioned it lacked many facilities I wouldnt use this to deter you from staying here. I would recommend this hotel any day! ...
Advantages: Excellent place for young children. Disadvantages: Quite a way from the main village, but reflected in the price.
My children and I have been to the Sur Menorca 4 times and currently trying to book for next year. It's a basic hotel, it isn't 5-star, so don't expect luxuries, but it's clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, especially the receptionists. The pool areas are generally very clean, although in the summer it is often very busy at the main pool. However, just behind the apartment block is a very big toddler's pool, very safe for the young children, and right next to the play area. My children spend most days in that area and I can relax while they find plenty to do.
The food is a bit repetitive, especially if you're there for 2 weeks, but it's clean, fresh and the platters are replaced regularly during meal times. Again, don't expect gormet food, it's basic, there's a big selection of salad, and usually one or two meat ...
Advantages: great for walks and very friendly..... Disadvantages: getting used ot the coastal railway, very close to it...
I think that Malgrat DeMar is an awesome place, I really missed out last year not going. Me and my family used to go for a month or so in the six weeks holiday and we'd meet up with my aunty who lives in Barcelona and her friends and some of the family would come over too, got a little hectic though as there were 14 people top in one flat, only 3 bedrooms lol.
Malgrat is perfectly situated, and its not a far to get to eh train station. From the train station you can travel to the many more places along the coast due to it being a coastal railway. These places include places like Llorett demar, Blanes, Canet demar, Pineda, Calella, San Pol demar, Arenys demar and Tossa demar.
The beach is good to, its well kept and the sea is almost always nice apart from when the waves come but if you enjoy riding the waves in a blow up ...
