the old town at night to enjoy more traditional restaurants and bars and avoid the ticket touts. Man they're like vermin! After being stopped 3 times in the space of 30 seconds we devised a route through the back streets just so we could get to a late night supermarket on that side! The old town of Lloret is quiet pretty though, with narrow streets and plenty of shops. There are some nice Cliffside walks too. You can have both a romantic holiday or a clubbing holiday in lloretdemar - just try and position your hotel well (north-east/central lloret old town, quiet - south-west/Fennals area (another beach at Fennals) for more larger holiday complex and modern town/clubs at central-west part of town).

The three star CostaBravahotel in Tossa deMar is situated approximately 200 metres from the beach and 150 metres from the resort centre. Barcelona is only 48 miles away and easily accessible from the nearby train service, which runs approx every 20 minutes.
Tossa itself is full of many small shop, bars, café's and restaurants, there is also a land train service, which runs about every 20 minutes, for a couple of Euros' it will take you all around resort, or jump of at its many stops, there is a large weekly market, for all your bargains and holiday trinkets.
A very nice beach is close to, clean, well looked after and plenty of facilities including water sports, and snack bars, all of which is across the main road, but ...

Our family visited the resort of Lloretdemar in the CostaBrava a few years ago now and I would totally recomend it to anyone.
We visited in the month of May as we like it a little cooler, a little quieter but also still with a variety of things to do. During this month the average temperature is around 70 degrees C but whilst we were there it was a little hotter than this.
Getting there:
We flew from East Midlands airport to the main airport of CostaBrava which is Gerona. Most airports fly here so it shouldn't be a problem getting here from other parts of the country. The flying time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and once landing there the transfere to Lloretdemar takes about 45 minutes. I think this is ideal if you are travelling as a family as we did as you can be in resort pretty quickly
