I have flown with this airline many times. Where ever I travel to I fly on this airline. I would say that the service was excellent about 10 years ago. They served better food and to a higher standard. The crew were very helpful then and the flight wasn't delayed and operated very smoothely. Now the flights on GULF AIR are terrible. At London Heathrow, there are long ques and the staff are not very helpful, polite and do not even let you off even a kilo of weight allowance in my experience. The operation of the flight is disorganised, there is most of the time no information to the status of the flight departing given. The crew didn't welcome passengers on board on my last trip. They were still getting organised. The food was plain and in small quantities. The flight took alot of time to depart from Heathrow. When the flight arrived in Bahrain, there was a long que for food vouchers. The ground gulf air staff in bahrain weren't very helpful. The crew didn't once smile and didn't assist with luggage. The inflight entertainment started when all the passengers were asleep. The space is cramped and they often do not give you the seats that are convenient, the duty free magazine needs to be updated. One good point about gulf air is that i changed my departure dates from Karachi about 5 times and they didn't charge anything. I loved the arabic hospitality years ago, but now I am very disappointed with this airline and wouldn't reccomend it. The toilets are maintained mainly to a very poor standard. In most of my travel with this airline most of the toilets have been closed. It is one of the cheaper airlines.
