The service at this hotel was amazing. As soon as we got there, people took care of our luggage without even asking us.
The food was amazing, they had everything on offer set up as a buffet, but with the most amazing food selection: you could choose anything for breakfast from eggs and cerial to sushi and salads, lunch was a selection of local specialities and western dishes and dinner was like you're dining at a really posh expensive restaurant. The selection of wines was also excellent, considering it's in Doha, which is quite a traditional place.
The hotel has it's own beach with lounging chairs. I didn't get to see the gym (I was on holiday lol) but a friend said he was really surprised with the facilities. Apparently they had every concievable machine. They also have an outdoor heated pool if you don't like the whole ...

when I moved to Bahrain I was placed in this hotel for a week. It is little far out of the city centre (15 min by taxi) but the place is lovely. It has very big swimming pool, with many restaurants (like Thai food and they also have one of the only british pubs in the country).
Rooms are big and always clean. The staff is always friendly and they speak good english. The aircondition works well and very quite so you can sleep well.
There is the old and new tower, if you can I strongly recommend to be placed in the new tower, as it is new and modern. The walls are also thicker so you get less noice from others.
Gulfhotel is one of the only hotels where mainly high class European/American people stay, therefore it is a very nice enviroment for everyone who likes to live in an exclusive and luxurious hotel.!

return trips (making that 12 flights given they all needed a change over) and for each of these Gulf Air was the cheapest available flight, twice when I had booked a good few months in advnace and once when I needed a relatively last minute flight. They are definitely a good option to check out if price is a pressing issue.
All bar one of my flights arrived within minutes of their designated landing time and so I would say the airline is very puntctual. One flight from New Delhi to Bahrain was delayed by around 3 hours and as a result I missed the connection from Bahrain to London. All passengers who were affeted were immediatel booked onto the next available flight which was in 12 hours time and given a free visa to Bahrain, a 4 star hotel room with 3 meals and transport to and from the hotel in the interim.
