Advantages: marvelous small island, yet do not overflow
Disadvantages: the journey is perhaps somewhat lengthy

...Yassas, Ladies and Gentlemen and Greece friends! Today I would like to tell you something about a greek island, which I know already for a very long time and feel always very well. I love this island! - It concerns the island Poros! Poros? Where lies? Poros lies in the Saronic gulf, together with the islands Salamina, Aegina, Angistri and the peninsula Methana in the north and the islands Hydra, Dokos and Spetses in the west. The five islands in the northern saronic gulf are appropriate for Athens next, whereby salamis a suburb of the capital is nearly already. Aegina, Hydra, Spetses and Poros differ surprisingly strongly in its architecture and landscape. The journey - or.... How does you come there? It is perhaps somewhat pedantic to arrive Poros but it is worthwhile itself in any case! Best you fly to Athens... Read review

Advantages: Warm, hot, fascinating place to visit
Disadvantages: Very humid ! 9 hour flight !

...Look what I found when I was clearing some files from my work database .... a review I wrote after I had been to Bahrain in June 2001. As part of my job, working within a global conference and events organiser, I used to do so much more International (and somewhat more exotic) travel than I currently do ;-( but I still can't grumble and I went to Barcelona on business last weekend and go to the South of France on business (of sorts!) next weekend. This particular trip was organised by a hotel group and was over 5-days including a trip to Bahrain, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. 9 UK based event organisers were invited and all expenses were paid, as we all met for the first time at Heathrow airport and flew over to Bahrain (9 hour flight) with Gulf Air (very comfortable airline). Advantages: A landmark hotel
Disadvantages: It's a long way from home

...Before we start, a warning. This is a long review - you might want to go and get a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits before you start reading. I got a bit carried away. Are we ready? OK, let's go and visit one of the world's classic hotels. Background to our visit ******************* Back in February I placed a booking with Exodus (an 'adventure travel' company) for a trip to Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas with a stay in Delhi at either end of visit. I'd rejected the flight inclusive option (because it used Gulf Air) and splashed out many years worth of Virgin Flying Club 'miles' on two economy tickets for my husband and myself. I love Delhi and I wanted some extra time to see a couple of the museums and monuments so I booked the flights a day early on the way out and a day late on the way back.
