    Gullfoss and Geysir form two-thirds of the "Golden Circle" of tourist attractions in South-West Iceland. The third site is Thingvellir National Park, which is a little to the west of the other two. Thingvellir is the ancestral site of the Icelandic parliament, and the area is peppered with sheer cliffs and enormous crevices - clearly indicating its location between the European and North American plates! The area there is stunningly beautiful - Thingvellir itself is located on the edge of the country's largest lake, Thingvallavatn.     Continuing on my trip around iceland and yet more amazing sites to be seen, and this was only the second day, the first day having been to the blue lagoon (read my other review). Geysir is one of the other big tourist attractions of Iceland although its only a shoirt visit, once you've seen it go off once or twice theres not a lot else to do. However as a geographer and geologist i found it fascinating. Now for a few boring facts.
