Clair and Mike Hancock and their family make you feel very welcome the moment you arrive at their campsite, just at the back of Gwithian Towans - a huge sandy beach which is a real favourite with families and surfers.
The campsite has some Electric pitches available, although most are just Standard pitches.
It's a fairly traditional Cornish campsite so there are only a few, but good quality, facilities; Hot Showers, Nice Clean Toilets and a small shop.
Clair also does a lovely Cornish Cream Tea and her garden cafe is open from 2pm until 6pm in the summer season, from Easter to September.
Just across the road is the Pendarves Arms, the local village pub which serves good beer and food as well. They've got a beer garden which, we're told, is very popular in the summer.
Gwithian is a good location for visiting the 'Far West' of Cornwall and attractions such as the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth's Sculpture Garden in St Ives, Land's End, the Minack Theatre, Penzance and St Michael's Mount, the gardens at Glendurgan and Trebah and, finally, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall at Falmouth.
Just a few of our suggestions, but of course you may prefer places like the Lizard Peninsula, with the Goonhilly sateliite dishes, just south of Helston.
Altogether a lovely base for a super camping holiday in Cornwall !
