This is a lovely hotel. One of many on this Island. I wanted to let you know what I thought about it. I am in the Travel Industry so can be quite critical. Well here goes -
***********LOCATION*********** The hotel is only 15 Km from Tenerife Sur Airport making the transfer quite short. This was great after a 4 hour flight !!! This hotel is on Playa de las Américas beach, right next to the sea and there is direct access to the ocean promenade. I loved the way it is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The beach is just through a gate at rear of the pool area and The Veronicas and Starcos clubbing areas are about 5-10 mins walk away, as are a good variety of restaurants.
***********ROOMS*********** The room we had was slightly larger than most basic hotel rooms and we also had a fridge in the cupboard free of charge. The room was very clean and we had a lovely King size bed, The maid service was good our room was cleaned every day. Our TV came with satellite coverage and international channels. You can also get a minibar if you want. All rooms have a safe and a terrace or balcony. Our balcony was a good size with table and 2 chairs.
*************POOL**************** The pool area was very nice, it had 3 different sized pools, one of which has a special children’s section. There was also a swimming pool bar. I must say that you need to watch out for the umbrellas, as they were mainly "mesh". They don't really give you too much shade from the sun. A plus was the fact that there never seemed to be a problem getting a sun lounger up to around 11 in the morning.(makes a change !!)
***********FOOD************** The food was brilliant with a varied range of breakfasts and there was always loads of it. I always found the staff to be very good. They were always polite and friendly. The selection of food really catered for all tastes. I noticed that there were always at least 3 meals being freshly prepared by the chefs, as well as at least 6 other buffet options available. Also there was always a choice of 3 soups. There were loads of salads to choose from, along with cakes, fresh fruit, yogurts and ice cream. There was also a Barbecue restaurant by the pool.
***********FACILITIES************ I loved the fact that this hotel has an internet and games corner. It was great contacting friends as often as I liked and keeping them up to date with the tan level!!. Note that you do have to pay a small fee for using the computers. The public areas in the hotel are lovely and were always spotless. There are also 4 tennis courts, and a complete programme of daytime and night-time activities. There is a bar called the Big Ben Bar and it usually featured live music. There is a Piano Bar and a snack-bar by the beach. For the very energetic there is a Multi-sports track. For the kids (or the kids at heart) there is a TV room and a games room. The kids can have loads of fun in the Children’s park. and you can use the laundry service to clean thier clothes up after !!!!
*************COST************** We booked the flights and the accommodation separately. I found it to be cheaper this way. We stayed for a week on Bed & Breakfast. It cost us 780 Euros foe a standard double room. We did try to get a seaview room as it would have only been 120 Euros more for the week, but there was none available.
***********OVERALL************ The staff were very helpful, and the place was eaxactly what we wanted. I would definately go back to this hotel.
