I stayed in this hotel when I went to a conference with work, so I wasn't paying! As a result not sure what the prices were like, but I'd imagine it was good value.

The reception
The reception is a lovely clean peaceful place. The reception is on the left as you come into the hotel and the bar area is to the right. There are lifts straight ahead and staff on hand to help with luggage. Staff at reception are very nice and efficient at checking you in and making sure you have everything you need.

The rooms
Rooms are of a good size with plenty wardrobe space - I was in a twin room. There is a TV in the room with lots of music channels and news - pretty much all I want to watch when I am away. The rooms are kept very clean by staff and towels changed as needed.

The bathroom is roomy, with a bath/shower, sink area and toilet. It was in good condition and had a good shower etc.

The food
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. The breakfast was spectacular. It is a help yourself buffet to please everyone. I ate a lot of the fresh fruit each day which was lovely, but there were also pastries, breads, yoghurts, cold meats, cheeses and the option of hot foods. There were various juices, and of course, tea and coffee.

We ate dinner in the hotel one night and it was just amazing. Good menu choice, great wine, service and a nice peaceful atmosphere. I would recommend anyone staying here to have dinner in one night.

Nibbles/nuts are always made available when you buy a drink at the bar - the service here was very good and the drink prices fairly reasonable. There was also a bar food menu with variuos sandwiches and so on. The Club sandwich was very filling and good value.

The pool
There was a pool up on the rooftop. I went to use it one day but found that it was quite small and not really the kind of pool you would sit by with a book. The area was a good suntrap though. Most hotel visitors seemed to head out rather than stay around the hotel.

Clientele
There weren't many families in this hotel - I have put average for this as I don't think it is a family focussed type of hotel. More for business visitors and city break types. As we were checking out, there was a rather loud hen party arriving, which may have livened the place up a bit.

Local area
The hotel is within walking distance of a subway station, supermarket, pharmacy and other amenities. The subway in Barcelona is easy to use to reach the tourist attractions.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would love to go back on a personal visit.
