At first you can visit a lot of bars where you can have the first experience with the Spanish mentality. Then, you can visit the wonderful monuments of Gaudí like "Sagrada Familia" or "Parc Güell".
Barcelona has also one of the beautifulness pedestrian walkways (perhaps the beautifulness) of the world: "Las Ramblas". In "Las Ramblas" you can see a lot of artists with their sympathy way to make the people laughing. You can also visit an another walkway whose name is "La Rambla del mar". Here you have a wonderful view of the Mediterranean. You can also visit "La Plaza de Catalunya" where you can buy a lot of things in "El Corte Inglés" (like Harrods). ...As a birthday present last year, Angel and the guys took me on my first ever holiday, to Barcelona. We only spent a week there, but it was the best week of my life, so I thought I’d do a review on it and share the experience with the rest of the Ciao community. I’ve got a feeling this could be quite a long one, so I’ll split it into sections to make it easier both for me to write, and for you to read.
My opinion of Barcelona in general
As this was my first holiday, I have nothing really to compare it to, but I cannot imagine any other destination even coming close to the standard set by this magnificent city. The atmosphere, set by an interesting mix of vibrant culture, living history, and the hustle and bustle of the city, is truly amazing.
There’s definitely a lot more to Barcelona than sun, sea and sand...

...Whether you are a family wanting a city holiday, a couple looking for a romantic break or someone single looking for fun, Barcelona offers us the chance to have everything we want whoever we are.
Unlike England, you can take your children out and they are always welcome in bars and restaurants. It is a very "child friendly" city even in the evening.
The nice old streets and the harbour give you the chance to have romantic walks or a bit of night life if you prefer it. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. You can choose just a "bocata" or "entrapa" like catalonians call it,(a roll), or go for something more sofisticated like fish or seafood, freshly made. The food is usually good value for money but watch out for the more pricey restaurants. Sometimes is a good idea to choose the menu of the day (menu del dia), good value for money...
