~ Introduction ~

I love to go on holiday in the canary islands. Before visiting Lanzarote for the first time, i did go to Gran Canaria and Tenerife, which i did like, but i decided to try something different. I had spoken to my family about where me and my family should go and quite a few family members did recommend going to Lanzarote. I love Canary Islands and i thought that the holiday would be at the same high quality of my other holidays. I searched Lanzarote on google and the island in general looked really clean and hot, which is something what i look for in a holiday. I read a couple of reviews on Thomas Cook who i always fly with, and a few on Ciao and Dooyoo. My family members had previously gone to the H10 Rubicon Palace and they could not recommend it more, the reviews were also very good and the hotel sounded high quality. The following weekend i took a trip into town to look for the prices of the hotel. I was obviously looking at prices a little higher than competing hotels because food and drinks are all inclusive. I went into Thomas Cook and asked for a price for my family, my family consists of one under twelve, three adults. We got quoted a price of £3500 rounded up, which i thought was fab, because we then has two rooms, bus transfer, and food and drink all paid for, for a week.

~ Lanzarote Airport & Transfer In General ~

There is only one airport for Lanzarote. The airport is situated on the beach which is really good but it did scare me a little on arrival so i thought i better warn you! The airport is centrally located which is great because the furthest point away from the airport is within an hours reach, especially because the speed limit is like 120mph! When you arrived at the airport the arrivals procedure, where they check your passport, etc was very fast. They dealt with all passengers promptly, and the bags which come of the aircaft arrived for collection on the belts very fast. If you haven't got a bus transfer, there are hundreds of taxi's lined up outside the airport, the taxi's are very quick and easy to get and the prices are fairly cheap ( experience from another trip later on in the year). The coach itself was also very good, the signs to get to the bus were easy to follow, and the walk was not far at all, you perhaps wouldnt even call it a walk. Once on the bus our hotel was the second to be dropped off after a very fast and efficient drop off at anither H10 hotel.

~ The Hotel In General ~

On entry into the hotel, the hotel appeared very clean and organised. The hotel's quality was amazing. The reception desk is situated on the right when you walk in the main double doors. The reception deals with your check in immediately and the help that they provide is really good. The reception holds a number of staff and most of them can speak quite a few languages, the staff are really good with English as well which is good because Spanish isn't my strongest language! Once i had given them our party's details they gave us all coloured wristbands which indicated that we were all inclusive customers. The wristbands are really good, they are not tight, they are waterproof, they do not rip and they look pretty funky situated on your wrist! Something which i found really useful about the hotel was that the different blocks of appartments where in number order, and so where the appartments inside of them, this made finding your room very simple. You could either take your luggage yourself, they could send a man to take your luggage or you can take a trip on the H10 Rubicon Palace train where they drive you to your room which i thought was really good! You each receive a room key for your room, which is useful if you are leaving your party.

~ Pools And Leisure Facilities ~

The H10 Rubicon Palace offers a range of pools and leisure facilities. Overall in the hotel there is approx eight pools which is great for a hotel. The pools range from shallow for the little ones, large ones with waterfalls, to heated ones, you have too many to choose from! The pools are cleaned in the morning whilst most people are asleep or whilst you are eating your breakfast, they are cleaned daily which is great and they are really clean as expected from all of that cleaning! The pools are never crowded due to the amount of pools they have on site, the main pool i would have to say would be the busiest due to a wooden hut resturant being in the middle of pool and you can swim underneath people walking around in the resturant which i have to say is quite fun! The hotel also offers a range of activities throughout the day including a club for teenagers, and little ones, and sports activities! Sport activities include water polo, dancing, crazy golf, football, and loads more! They are all watched over my staff who also join in! You can also play crazy golf and other games at your own leisure, just go to the hut by the main pool where lifeguards usually sit together. This is included in your fee that you pay to stay at the hotel! The hotel also offers a Indoor leisure facility which i have never used. You do have to pay extra to get into there and i think it was around €21 to get inside the facility which is quite alot if you have a large family. The indoor facility does include saunas, bubble pools, and outdoor heated pools.

~ Food and Drink ~

Food and Drink in the hotel is very good. I think the hotel only offers all inclusive now because it makes it alot easier for the staff. There is a large amount of food available, from two resturants, one of the two opening earlier, and one opening a few hours after the other. The hours they are open have a large range, which is great if you get up late, or early! The resturants are very big, and have alot of seating inside and quite alot outside as well. The staff inside are very friendly which i love, and they are always there to help. Food available is, a range of fish, meats, potatoes, vegetables, salads, bread, fruits, desserts, cereals, drinks, fruit juices, etc. They also hold a very good vegetarian range of food, and they label which is suitable for certain dietary requirements. You can pick what food you want and have a seperate spoon for each range of food. The two resturants are open, at breakfast ( about seven until ten ) at lunch ( about twelve until two) and then dinner/tea ( six until eleven ) all of the times are approx because they might have changed since i went! If you want something to eat out of these times they also hold a small food selection insIde the wooden hut bar in the middle of the main pool, they also have food at dinner if you want to eat around the pool as they do not allow pool clothing in the resturants. There are two bars outside where you get get drinks, one of them being the wooden hut, and one in the little shopping area. There is also a bar on the top floor inside, called the Piano bar, pool clothing is not allowed in there however.

~ Nightime and Shopping ~

At night the hotel offers a large bar/ pub club available from seven until midnight. They offer childrens entertainment such as dancing, clowns and singers. It is really good there you can have a drink and a sit down while the staff sing and dance with the kids! Later on at night they offer more entertainment such as comedians, animal performances, and more singing! At this bar they offer you your all inclusive cocktails and alcohol beverages, also soft drinks, and water. The Piano bar upstairs in also open until around eleven which offers you drinks and somebody playing the piano or singing. At nightime they also offer a bar outside which has pool tables, and a TV which plays sports playing at the time. They play loud music which you can definately hear if you walk by on the way back to your room, but the music never effects anybodys room which is great. The hotel also offers shopping which is good. They have a small shopping area outside by the bar which is great which offers clothes, scuba diving trips, and also toys. The hotel also has a shop inside by the Piano bar which offers swimming accessories, newspapers, and sweets, basically what you would find in a newsagents!

~ The Room ~

The room itself is great. As you read earlier i had booked two rooms which i had to due to there being three adults. The staff joined are rooms together via a door at the bottom of each room, which most rooms have. Obviously if you dont want the room to be attached the doors are securely locked. Each room has well made beds which are great, a fridge, a safe which comes in handy if you want to store your passports or money, and a clean bathroom. The bathroom consists of a shower, a bath sometimes, toilet, sink and large mirror. The room itself has a bed as listed before, a desk, a wardrobe, bedside tables, and a colour TV with lots of different channels and languages. The room also has a cleaner which comes at different times everyday, you also have the choice of not having the cleaner just pop the Notice on the door. The cleaners clean the room very good and efficiently.

~ Overall ~

Overall i would recommend this hotel to anybody, due to the large amount of facilities available, the family friendliness, all inclusive and most of all, the staff are really friendly. I also feel that the price you pay is definately worth what you get! The weather is also hot but not over powering!
