There were many options to go for, I went for the "best flexible" also I chose a "standard" room, as being a Platinum Priority Club member I knew that I would get an upgrade to an "Executive" room. Cost for the rooms are from 90 Euro a night, up to 150 Euro a night. The Hoilday Inn booking allows advanced booking where you cannot change the booking, but it works out cheaper. Advantages: Great City, lots to do

..." many people have dogs, and there are quite a few strays, everybody just lets their dog go where ever it is, so do look down too! In the centre of Naples, there is fantastic architecture. On all the interesting buildings there are boards adjacent to them explaining the history of the building, you could spend the best part of the day walking around reading these. Bagnoli This area was my base for this trip it is about 5 miles from the centre of Napoli, the hotel I was staying in (Best Western - San Germono allegedly 4 star but I would say 2.5 star was nearer the mark ) was 500 metres from where I was working. The area is to be honest is a bit rough, the roads are bad, and quite dirty. Going into the centre of Bagnoli, there are a couple of nice restaurants, but people don't go here unless they need to! Advantages: Convenient for Pompeii
Disadvantages: AC? What AC? Room was like an oven.

...We were planning to visit Pompeii but finding a decent hotel close by was as easy as excavating these ancient ruins with a teaspoon. So Naples it was. The Holiday Inn looked perfect for our needs - on the edge of the city towards Pompei and easy access from the autostrade. When I say easy access, I mean 'in theory'...on a map...in my wildest dreams etc. The Holiday Inn is situated in a modern development of high-rise offices and commercial properties called Centro Direzionale directly connected to a link road from the A1 autostrade. But, this being Naples, where stock car racing is not only the principal hobby, it's downright de rigeur, it proved a little more tricky than directed from the hotel's web page.
